Anyway, get the 1070. If you need help heating your room, house, city, or state get the Vega. Remember that VR is 1080p doubled and running at 90hz. May look fine in the lower tier games but PC2 ad AC may find it's limits on a 1060 even though it's within the "recommended". Games like GTAV will make it struggle a little more. The 1070 not so much.

I'd talk him down to at least 300. On the argument that it's been running 24/7 at full load for probably 2 years. This way you get 1070 performance at half the price.
