What are you running? I ran this game and put about 75 hours into it on my 4 year old ASUS ROG laptop with a gtx770m, settings on very low and still got 35-40fps. Not ideal, but totally playable. And honestly, most the people I play with have gtx1080's and still run on mid settings to get an advantage, there is less foliage and cover on lower settings to it's easier to spot people sneaking around. And since the game is not really optimized yet, it's hard to get really high fps even with good hardware.

This thread makes me chuckle tho, everything stated above is true. It makes you be irresponsible (I went out and bought a new/used pc and a blackwidow chroma keyboard this weekend), will make you lose sleep (have stayed up till 2 am when I had work the next day more than a few times now), will literally make your heart pound (especially towards the end of the match when **** gets real), and is completely addicting... I can't say I've ever played a game that sucks you in this hard and physically effects you while playing.

I'm glad I'm not the only one losing sleep and garage time over this game. The list of stuff to go on the car keeps growing. I think I'm up to almost 100 hours as well, and that's chump change compared to the guys I play with.

I will be getting this game next paycheck. Need something occupy my time with.

Be careful what you wish for! If you let it, this game will consume all the free time you have... very easily lol. Also, you can use first person at any time but you are at a disadvantage because in 3rd person you can see around corners. They are going to add first person only servers so it can be fair.

 

First person only is going to be soooo much better.. I think... corner camping is fuking BS. Well, at least until it is advantageous to you.

And no this game doesn't consume your free time, it consumes all time, it is a literal black hole. I managed to stay off for 2 days in a row. I feel like I should get an award or something, and maybe go to PUBG Anonymous (PUBGA) meetings.

 

I've stayed off for like 5 i think. But custom loop had the system down for a bit. Though i do admit i tried to play a little on my old system, it's just not the same.

Pretty sure they're pushing out these updates soon.

The update hits test servers for a day or maybe a week?? I don't know. But some good changes are coming. I do hope that the report a player isn't abused and it's fairly easy to use. It's hard to know if a person is cheating if they are good at it(go watch youtube videos). Also being able to reconnect after a DC is huge. This should have been implemented a while back. It would really help in the early stages of the game with a lot of people crashing. But yeah other than that, FPV should be here soon, if not by the time you read this post.

 

Reconnect after dc should have been in the alpha. No excuse for that.

I've had like 10 top 10 games in first person servers so far. It's such a game changer.

 

Played a bit tonight, definitely a great game... unfortunately my gfx card sucks big-ol donkey sack and I have to play everything on ultra low settings. I lag while parachute etc... Once I'm on the ground I do 'ok', but nothing to write home about.

Just makes me want to upgrade my PC even more... Come on threadripper!

 

Ryzen 1600 or even a 1500x with a gtx1070 is in your future.
This combination seems to be super solid and a lot of people are doing this.

You should wait for Vega.

 

im on a 4 year old i5 (3570k i think) and had to upgrade to a gtx1050ti. runs great. a 1050ti is only like $130

 

M4 kitted with a suppressor and a 4x is OP as frig.

 

A bit of an update, the game is somewhat playable after moving it over to my SSD.

Still laggy at times. I'm using up the majority of my 4GB of ram, cpu & gpu are cookin with heat. I did a slight OC on the gpu with msi afterburner and that helped a bit. Pushing the limits on my gtx 750ti.

A new system is in my future for sure. FWIW, I have a cousin staying with me while he finds a job in Austin. So if I'm on Steam playing PUBg, he might actually be playing.
