XBOX. Took me over an hour to download all the updates. One for the console, one for LIVE, and one for the game that took about 40 minutes... each one required a reboot.

I played Core TDM for about 20 matches. So far I like the boards a lot. It feels like that there are move "avenues" of fire for taking medium range shots with assault rifles and whatnots. It didn't cycle me through CARRIER or HIJACKED, but I played most of the other boards. So far, there aren't any boards that look good for sniping, even DRONE which is billed as a sniper-map, the sniper hides are fairly exposed. I've been a Run&Gun/Sneak player forever, and these maps all seem very well suited for sprint-to-cover types of fighting. Unlike the first BlackOps maps, where 2 good dudes could dominate an entire game, these maps have way too many nooks and paths to maintain a good scan with just 2 guys.

I just checked into my new command here in Norfolk, and there are a couple guys who play. I'll report back in a week or so after some coordinated team play and let you know what I've figured out works and doesn't.

The biggest letdown in the game is the weapons. WTF happened to all the guns? Every single weapons looks like it came out of a StarshipTroopers/MadMax mashup. Even the SCAR-H, which is the most "stock" looking gun in the game, has a bit of artistic edge to it to make it look "harder" or more "tactical". It's a sellout if you ask me. I would have been perfectly fine with a bit of an update to all the standard front-line military service guns... instead, they pulled a JarJar-Binks.

I haven't messed with the perks and specials much yet, look pretty standard. I DO however love the new create a class. I think the GUI could have been done better, but it may just be because it's new. I like assigning points to various things and giving the player more control over his setup to suit his playing style. I haven't quite figured out the Wildcard thing yet.

So far, I love most of it, but the fact that they completely missed the mark on ALL the weapons is a big letdown.

After almost a month, I like it.

The new ridiculousness of the space weapons has worn off, and they're just like any other guns. The perk/special/wildcard system I REALLY LIKE.

My standard setup for run&gun/sneak is:

MK46 w/grip-FMJ-stock
no secondary
Hardline
2x Bouncing Bettys
1x Smoke Grenade
Primaryx3
Tacticalx2

The MK46 is a beast at all ranges... I can take accurate full-board burst shots at snipers on iron sites and win about 75% of the time. Run-speed is not noticeable slower than with an assault rifle... and with no secondary, I can switch to the knife to cover ground quicker.

The Bouncing Betty's are awesome... their success all depends on placement. They can be a huge part of your game or useless depending on how you use them. My stats show that I get a BB kill about 20% of the time... 1 of every 5 I drop kills. And I'm using them enough that I'm getting good at defending from them... a quick drop when you hear them trigger is a save if you're not already wounded.

Scorestreaks...
Hunter-Killer
Hellstorm
Lightning Strike

These in combination with Hardline ensure that if I can get 3 or 4 kills on my own, I get my HK, which I throw immediately as long as I'm outside. If my HK gets a double-kill (about 25%), I instantly get both Hellstorm and Lightning strike. If my HK only gets one or misses, I need either 1.5 (kill+assist or BB kill) more kills, or a headshot to get them. Whatever the point totals work out to, if I get 3 kills on my own, I almost always get all 3 scorestreaks which typically makes me anywhere from 3-6 extra kills. I'm a complete K/D *** no matter what game I'm playing.

My favorite map is HIJACKED... I rock the same setup as above with the exception of the R870 shotgun vice the MK46. I've been playing some with the KSG shotgun, which has an awesome range, but you need to be way more accurate up close than the other shotguns since it's a slug.

More to follow.

Best class ever, and Im sure someone will make fun of it but...

AN94 with quickdraw, Fast mag
No secondary

Perk 1: Light weight 110% speed
Perk 2: Toughness / Fast Hands (Dont flinch as much, and quickly swap weapons and throw equipment)
Perk 3: Dexterity (Basically everyone runs it so might as well)

Wild card Perk 2 greed

Equipment: 2 flash, or concussion, and semtex (Throw the flashes or concussion, and then the semtex auto kill because they cant see or cant move, and great for sneaking up on people)

Score streaks since I forgot: UAV Hunter Killer Counter UAV. If you can keep the kills going, and not die you can actually loop this with Hardline and keep the opposing team clueless about whats going on because of the counter UAV. People generally get pissed about when playing.
