This is... something... - Mazda MX 5 Miata | eBay
I give them props on the fit and finish of the body work but sheesh, I can't imagine it's going to sell for much at all. https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1403017537 "This is an unique piece of art that I've spent close to 70000$ building. All fiberglass body parts (no plastic added on metal). The car is 5 inches wider than a Dodge Viper. Wheels are 3 pieces 11,5 inches front and 13,5 rear mounted on 255-35 ZR18 in front and 295-30 ZR18 rear. Tires are NEW. Manual 6 speed transmission issued from a 2002 SS Camaro with ceramic clutch, 8,8 Ford differential, STD suspension with custum camber front and rear. 4 pistons disk in front with 15'' cross drilled disks, New paint from last year... There is way too much to say ! Interior would need a little love. I can send as many pictures as needed, open to send a film as well if you want to hear the roar it makes. Don't worry, it's a Bad ass !" |
That's really.... something.
|
lol at using the gps for a speedo. You should move this over to the craigslist thread.
|
Does it come with that planter? Or maybe the window boxes?
|
Every so often you'll see good, quality work, done so distastefully that it basically ruins itself.

I mean I don' hate it. The wheels could be better. For that kinda money I'd expect the engine bay to be spotless and there to atleast be wheel caps on the wheels. He shoulda just went to FM and had them build it cause it looks like whoever he hired did a piss-poor job. Cheap seats too. But, that's some good body work.

Acquire mint MSM for 10-12k. Have FM do it up for 40k. Body work and interior for 10-20k. Would end up with the most epic miata in existence for the same price. |

Oh absolutely, without question.
I'm just saying, If I was stupid filthy rich, had absolutely nothing better to do, and decided to do up a miata this way, that's the route I'd take. |
So many things to say about this...... I'll just pick one.
Fiberglass the entire body to make it look "custom" and leave the factory stick on spoiler on the trunk lid.... |
Don't lowball him bros, he knows what he's got.
|
The $70K question is; would you pay $70K for an extra 5 inches?
|
Nah, urinal water is cold.

5 inches of girth. You won't hit the g spot, but you'll demolish everything before that
|
I didn't know gayz had G-spots. Is this still a miata forum? Or have we moved on to excessive fiberglass and gold chains?
|
ummmmm, wow?
|
Thing is, $$ invested claims are almost universally crap anyway.
If I blow an engine at high 200s WHP, then put in a built engine, I can now count the cost of both when I CL it. Then I blow a 5 speed and put in a 6 speed. Well shoot, that's 2000 bucks right there because the 6 speed was about a grand, the 5 speed is worth maybe 250, and then I had to replace the stock clutch with a proper unit and all the gear oil and a new shifter gasket thingy and mount. Counting the new clutch and flywheel, hey that was more like a 2700 investment! Lord knows what it is with labor thrown in! When realistically the transmission was basically a sub-1000 investment and counting the clutch and flywheel we could maybe say something like 1600. And so on. The cars body work looks really solid, but 70K must be counting every little thing and labor. In other words, that 70K number is basically normal Ebay/CL/etc posturing for negotiations and needs a lot of salt. |
It's worth what somebody will pay for it. Assuming there are some good used parts under there, I might pay $1K.

^^ Agreed.
I think what we forget is that people like the one who "built" that car, they are not 'car people' like we are in this forum. I really don't think they're car people at all. Also, I automatically think anyone who adds a "$" at the end of a number as to represent a literal "twenty dollars" pronunciation, is a moron. We all learned in elementary school that all numerical amounts involving money are represented with a "$" in front of the amount. |

I'm succeeding at modifying at least two front-wheel-drive cars!! For whatever that does me. :bowrofl: |
If you push one FWD with another FWD car, would the front car be considered rear-push drive?

For $70K I would buy a used 2005 Porsche 911 for $45K as my weekend toy and a used VW CC as my everyday ride. And still have a few bucks let over to purchase insurance on both cars for 6 months.
|

|
Would buy for $3k, restore body to mostly stock, win.
