)(*&^%$# Dents, Dings, and Dog Crap.

I'm so tired of this CRAP! My door didn't shut all the way so I bumped it with the palm of my hand to click it the rest of the way shut.

ANOTHER FUCKING DENT!

Acorn falls... Dent. Wind blows, Dent. Rains... LOTS OF DENTS!!!

WTF?

Every time I see my car in the right light, I want to cut down every fucking oak tree in the state of Florida.

Screw you fucking oak fucks! FUCK!

Just another day :vash:

You think you are mad, wait until some idiot in a SUV hits you... :vash:
She says "I'm sorry, I didn't see you."

You are loved, my friend.

Shit! how you think I fell about my car? :cjerk:

Hell, this is one of the primary reasons I enjoy having a less-than-perfect 20 year old car. Somebody dings me in the parking lot? Who cares. One more ding among hundreds.

SlideRuler 09-25-2010 02:06 AM

the way I see it, there are cars worth thousands more than yours that are out there getting dinged every time you see one on the road. Think...Ferrari, Viper, Corvette, etc. It's what's under the hood that counts. The rest is only to show off for women and your own ego.

Precisely. This is why I wash my car maybe twice a year. Atleast once to keep the moss from growing on it =P

I feel your pain.. My townhome complex is filled with trees and my 2010 Mustang always has tree sap stains and bird shit all over it. The cowl area's also always filled with leaves and pine needles.

Image isn't everything but for most people its pretty important.
I am much happier getting into my car every day when it looks good and is clean then when it was dented up and paint was fading.
Its kinda like personal hygene: some people cut hair, shave, and dress sharp not to impress ladies, but to feel good about themselves. Some walk around looking like bums and smelling like shit wearing stretch pants and hoodies cause they just don't care.

Tell me, which car would you rather drive?http://i54.photobucket.com/albums/g9...66d20249_b.jpg
OR

That's my car before/after btw;)

02semiata 09-25-2010 05:39 PM

HDR much :p

18psi 09-25-2010 05:48 PM

There, I changed it.
Better?:D

Back on topic though: I totally understand that its so much easier/simpler to drive a beat up car: so much less headaches, so much less worrying and bs.
But I just never felt like my car was "COMPLETE" when I first boosted it and drove around with faded paint/etc.

Now I worry about stupid crap that may hurt my cars looks but at least I feel like my car is "done".

I'm probably crazy though:giggle:

PS: OP I feel your pain man

SlideRuler 09-25-2010 06:10 PM

I wash my car twice a week, so I guess I'm a little on the OCD side. I like my RPF1's to be bling-blingin' at all times, nahmean?

However, I'd trade the nice paint and non-curbed wheels for a fully-built 1.8 with FFS S/C and a rusty body on Rota's.

So you could make a whopping 250whp?
FFS = fucking fail sauce

I kind of agree. I hate that my car looks its age, but at least I don't worry about it like I would if it had a new paint job.

what's wrong with 250whp? That's more than plenty.

18psi 09-26-2010 04:59 AM

250 is stock motor/small turbo territory.
The fact that it would take a fully built motor and maxed out FFS sc to reach that power level just proves that FFS: fail

Joseph B 09-26-2010 11:09 AM

For $3,700 (the cost of the FFS kit) you can get a Bell or FM no electronics kit, a Megasquirt, and injectors and potentially have 250 whp rather than 190 whp.

SlideRuler 09-26-2010 12:48 PM

^ but you would lose reliability, your under-hood temps would be way higher, and the turbo with i/c setup weighs a lot more than the FFS 18lbs...

plus it comes with a new fuel rail, intake manifold, throttle body and adapter, etc etc it just sounds like a solid deal for someone who doesn't want to deal with idle problems, laptop tuning, and shit breaking every day.

OH MY GOD

You truly are dumber than I thought:facepalm:

Go ahead and mention the 5th injector in your argument for FFS too. That will complete your dissertation of stupidity.

Turbobarber 09-28-2010 04:18 PM

Lol - I haven't been on in a few days... Didn't know I would spark it up so.

Yea - to those of you with weathered and dinged cars, I agree there is some comfort in knowing it's already got some battle scars...

Turotufas - That sucks :/ You got the bitter end of the deal, but with luck you'll come out on top. I hope so!

To the SUV Lady... "Saw me or not, I know damn well you heard me!"

For me, I feel like I'm teetering on the edge between a well kept car and a weathered showing it's age oldie.

The paint is pretty nice still, no real body damage, just the dings and the new palm dent I've aquired. Interior is still in good shape.. however with time all of this is wearing faster than I can catch up in my finances, so I'm headed down the path of an under cared for worn out old clunker.

Speaking of things falling apart on my car, I got a ring stuck in my tire over the weekend. I just plugged the hole but I really need a new set of tires lol

I also just started to notice difficulty shifting into 2nd and 4th as well :( I dunno if I'm just getting careless shifting or what, but twice now I've ground it 2nd and once in 4th.

Woe is me :(

Anyway thanks for the support with my venting... I actually felt much better after posting that, believe that or not. All said and done, we're all pretty lucky to have these cars no matter their condition as there is always hope for future restorations.

So long as there is money in that same future as well! :D
