Yup... .006". After finding my dead WBO2, replacing it, calibrating it.. I thought the misfire would go away..figuring it was caused by the dead WBO2 in the first place. But after replacing and checking over everything, it was still breaking up...bad. Figured it had to be the plugs. But I had taken them out about 2 weeks ago to check them. Well, I thought i'd try one last ditch effort and re-gap them. I brought the gap down from .040/.041 to ~ .035. BINGO! Now the car feels like it should... my God it's so nice to have the car back to how it was a few months ago.

Go figure.... that much of a difference on the damn plugs made the car drive like *** at WOT...


On a side note, I was showing a new Musting who was boss on my way home and heard something go clanking around under the car. Pretty sure I ran over something... but i'll look under the car anyway to make sure nothing fell off.

Check for a missing PPF bolt possibly. They tend to drag, though.

Yeah.. been there...not fun....broken PPF..I rule! I checked under the car as much as I could and couldn't find anything missing or anything...i'm betting it was just some road debris.

Don't you people read sigs?? Yeah.. just running the stock 2002 coils. What's strange is that the car was running fine for quite sometime before the WBO2 took a ****...so why, given that I didn't change the gap, would it have been fine beforehand?
I know I checked it a few weeks ago, but didn't think much of it..mostly because I forgot the gap I measured shortly after I checked it

Hey, let me ask a stupid question here... (I'm still in 'n00b' mode on here anyway)

What does your WB02 have to do with anything if you're running a standalone EMS? I have a Haltech E6K on my 96, and the only thing my WB02 does is feed the little gauge in the dash.

Not being dickish, I'm just curious. Maybe its because you have a newer model?

Ding ding ding exactly the only thing i can think of is the voltage draw from a dropping ground robbing effeciency from his coils but that is a long shot. Interference of some sort do to excess untransmitted signal might have made a diff as well.

Yah my stupid PPF bolt -- the frontmost one broke off on the mounting place or the thread stripped out of the screw hole. I'm going to have to replace that hole thing. Dorifto is bad for your car mmkay..

i run ngk plugs, and instead of part# xxx-xx-11, i run the same plug without the -11 at the end. the -11 at the end means the plug has a .044 gap. without the -11 and the plug is gapped at .030 which is what i run. also, never re-gap a used spark plug. unless you don't care if there's pieces of metal bouncing around in your combustion chamber.
