1.6 to 1.8 conversion question
 

So I'm dropping a 97 motor into my 1990, and I have a question regarding the stock fuel pressure regulator. On my 1.6L, the vacuum reference went straight from the fuel pressure regulator to the intake manifold. The one on my 1997 1.8 motor goes into some sort of electronic box, and then goes to the intake manifold. Can I just remove this box? Reason i'm asking is the vacuum nipple on it was broken off when I got the motor, and I don't have that connection on my stock harness anyways.

are u running the 1.6 electronics? i hate to say this but... m.net has alot of 1.6-1.8 conversion info.

You *should* be fine. No personal experience with miatas on this one, but one of the first things I've done to every dsm I have owned is simplified the vacuum routing, which included removing the lines that went to the FPR solenoid.

set it up like a 1.6 electronically.
