Peak torque at 7k rpm? Baller

stoves 12-03-2015 07:33 PM

527 hp and 386 ft-lbs.

holy shit. Spools so late though.

Itty 12-03-2015 07:53 PM

Until 4000 rpm it's like driving a normal Miata and then it turns into a jet car.

wannafbody 12-03-2015 08:11 PM

How many pounds of boost?

MotoCARR 12-03-2015 08:40 PM

Crazy lol

18psi 12-03-2015 08:53 PM

nice s2000

Chooofoojoo 12-03-2015 09:23 PM

Pretty sure that's what Fae's powerband was. Except out of a shittier motor.

Nothing until 7k, ALLOFIT, Shift.

EricJ 12-03-2015 09:56 PM

Hmm, aren't those NB taillights?

deezums 12-03-2015 10:08 PM

Reverant doesn't live in the USA, there were 1.6 NB everywhere else.

Isn't that 386 HP at 5250 rpm?

dasting 12-03-2015 11:20 PM

Holy exhaust flames.

29psi. We could go as high as 35psi, but we got the power/torque we wanted anyway at 29.

90civichhb 12-04-2015 07:18 AM

Wow, crazy. Have you got a build thread on the car? I would love to see how you are going to handle the drivetrain at that power.

Reverant 12-04-2015 07:21 AM

RX-7 FD gearbox, Supra Mk3 diff, custom axles. Seems to be holding up so far.

Braineack 12-04-2015 07:45 AM

Now imagine the same on a 1.8L...

don't jelly.

Reverant 12-04-2015 08:00 AM

More torque, less revs, but cool story bro. :)

Braineack 12-04-2015 08:17 AM

did you just play the rev card?

stoves 12-04-2015 08:26 AM

I don't think so. Peak torque doesn't occur until well after 5250 rpm, so the tq and hp cross over will be whatever it is at 5250. Peak tq hits at 6762 rpm (386 ftlbs) but at 5250 it looks more like 260ish Nm (~190 ftlbs) and Cv is at 190-200 (~190 hp).

The "peppy" 1.6L thread.

aidandj 12-04-2015 09:03 AM

Engine specs? What internals, etc.

18psi 12-04-2015 09:15 AM

wouldn't the nb head also make more power? iirc the euro 1.6 heads are same design as us 1.6 heads right?

regardless, that power is nuts

Reverant 12-04-2015 09:43 AM

Nothing too special about the engine. +1.5mm pistons, rods, ARP-all-the-bolts, ATI damper, oversizes valves, stiffer valve springs, Toda cams. Revs to 8300.

This 1.6 NB makes 110hp at the crank.

dasting 12-04-2015 09:56 AM

What's the primary use of the car going to be?

Brake boost supra racing. Pants shitter. Ditch eater.

Reverant 12-04-2015 09:58 AM

It's a drag car in disguise.

18psi 12-04-2015 10:09 AM

pun?

This is the car who talk about the Reverant

18psi 12-04-2015 11:23 AM

congrats. your car is nuts

turbofan 12-04-2015 01:49 PM

Car is nuts indeed. I have no want, but respect.

90civichhb 12-04-2015 01:51 PM

Have you taken it to the drag strip at all? I think that car would be a hell of a fun time on the street but a nightmare for track or autocross use.

Reverant 12-04-2015 02:11 PM

Guys, this is a drag racing car, and yes, it has been at drag strips multiple times.

90civichhb 12-04-2015 02:31 PM

Care to share the slip? I'd love to see what your MPH trap and 60ft time is. From the drivetrain it looks like you can really let it rip out of the hole.

This one it is for my last event of season I have some problems with ignition and I run with mechanical boost 1,2 bar the best time for the event is 12,3 et with disaster 60" 2,3 and 198km

emilio700 12-04-2015 02:51 PM

Impressive technical achievement.

But why?

edit: NVM. Drag racing class. Got it.

But why?

Because impressive technical achievement :)

The amount of work that went into this car could have been done on any engine, v8, 1.8, 4g63, FE3 etc. they just picked the 1.6.

This car some times I run it in public road for street races and if it is put into a larger engine or swap engine the rules here are very hard and the fine was very big for this or police take the car sometimes

18psi 12-04-2015 03:35 PM

123mph is fast, can't wait to see the trap speed at full boost/power

Me to my friend..! Now the championship stop and start with new season until then wait...

90civichhb 12-04-2015 04:41 PM

If you can get that 60ft time down that car will post a very impressive time. Your trap speed is good for low 11s and possibly high 10s. That is a very fast car. Awesome work man, hope to see you pull a 10 second pass.

Reverant 12-04-2015 04:44 PM

We are hoping to hit the low 11s. High 10s is probably not easy on the tracks around here - the traction is not that great.

90civichhb 12-04-2015 04:59 PM

Good luck, hope to see some video in the future. As a 1.6 owner it makes me tingly to see someone go through this much effort and see this much success. Very cool. :likecat:

aidandj 12-04-2015 05:00 PM

Go read jtothewhat's build thread. He was/is shooting for the moon on a 1.6. Quafie gearbox, huge efr, etc.

18psi 12-04-2015 05:06 PM

and never did it so who cares

he shoulda got a rotrex

:giggle:

And quite possibly the slowest build in MT history. It's an awesome build for sure, but damn, almost 6 years in the making.

aidandj 12-04-2015 05:10 PM

Its not parted out yet, so there is still hope.

mx5-kiwi 12-08-2015 05:36 PM

What happened to the theory "no 1.6 can make 300 WHP" thread and competition?

you forgot the GT2560R caveat.

18psi 12-08-2015 07:38 PM

but it's so much more convenient to take things out of context and start stupid girly drama with it

...besides, this car is in Greece :likecat:

dogits 12-09-2015 06:59 AM

yesterday I did measurements for GREEK MAGAZINE tuning(power technique) and vbox showed 100-200 in 6.02 seconds
