oh i was kiddin... I slapped an earlier CAS onto my exh cam to run full sequential on the Tec3... car is an 01.

So my question to the OP is this: what will swapping all this into the earlier car gain you? I mean overall... like a bullet list.

The NB has ever-so-slightly beefier control arms (read: they have like one less weight-saving hole stamped in them) than the NA, they'll have the beefier (read: finer thread) alignment bolts, they'll have newer, presumably less-worn, ball-joints and bushings, it'll have the newer-style upper shock mounts/bushings (but those could've been retrofitted for ~$135 for brand-new parts), new/larger diff., fresh rubber brake lines?

I'm grasping at straws, now.

Well, here's the story. I've got a 90 with 39k and a dying (knocking) engine, and the 99 has 25k miles. Am I doing this for 14k miles difference? No.

First off, my other car is a 97, and I've owned a 92. I loved the rear subframe and front bracing in the cars. Poeple say they can't feel it, I can. With a proper alignment, it felt stable as hell, whereas the 90 doesn't. That's why I want to swap the 99 rear subframe into the 90. Next, I know I'll be boosting it, and I would rather boost on a sturdier (questionable), but better flowing 1.8 rather than a 1.6, so that's why I want the 99 engine.

From there, the only parts left are the trans (1-2 synchros, and I mean, hell, I might as well, right?), and front subframe. My current subframe in the 90 is perfect, but I might as well do it anyway.

I know that this is time consuming, but I have no job, no license, and three dead Miatae. This is just to occupy my time.

I think the last reason is the best. :bigtu:

that's cool though, i was mostly curious. seems like a little of everything.
