1999 PT paint code, Bilstein, Hard S tag, Production #'s?
Hello,
I just purchased a 1999 Miata 5spd. I've never seen a white one before and I really like the color. The paint code is PT. I also noticed there is no power windows. Has black cloth interior. No bose system. This car does have bilstein, strut bar, rear spoiler, 14" rims. I'm the 3rd owner. Driver's tag in door jam says; "03/98. On the passenger side tag it says; Suspension - Hard S and Model is NC12-NAA. Car was a fleet vehicle until 12,000 miles. Second owner was a young girl and then she bought a newer Miata. Is this car rare? I know they made R package on the 1st gens. Did they make this package on the second gens? Do you know how many were made and what this may be worth? I'm wanting to fix it up if it's worth anything. Thank you, Tiffany |
lol it's not rare.
but enjoy it either way :) |

Are you one of those douchebags that tries to find anything about your car to try to make it "special" so you can throw it on CL at some absurd price cause you want to make a quick buck of some poor stupid shmuck?
C'mon now. Don't be THAT guy. We actually have a thread (the craigslist finds thread) where we laugh at people like that. It's "more rare" than your most typical run of the mill LS in something like silver or green, but it is not some uber rare gem. Heck, it's not even as rare as a shinsen or even one of the BRG SE NB2's. I had one. I really liked the white/black combo, and they did discontinue that in 02, but there's still the 00's and 01's with that combo, and having the optional billies doesn't raise the value more than a couple hundo, if that. Just enjoy the car. It's not special, but it's still a great car |

Not exactly 'rare' or even that desirable, but cool nonetheless.

Oh well in that case I apologize. It seemed like you were trying to make a profit on it or something. My mistake.
It's a good combo, enjoy it |
I understand where you are coming from. I see it all the time on CL. I just figured it may be an uncommon model like the R package first gens. Never owned a Miata with LSD. I always had a LS model.

<p>That is a sport package. Someone hooped the rims though; they came with 15" wheels. The sport package are fairly rare and somewhat coveted in certain stock class racing as they are base cars with the hard-s suspension, torsen, swaybars, nardi wheel, and 15" wheels. A friend of mine has the same car; white 99 sport. It's fun to autocross, and can be very competitive in a cheap to run stock class, unlike the "prepared" classes that get spendy if you want to trophy.</p>

How do you know it was a fleet car? A Miata seems like an odd choice for a fleet vehicle, except maybe a rental car.
