25 Hr at Thunderhill

NBC HD sports had a great doc. on the 25 hr at Thunderhill. Alot of it had our own 949 racing Emillio on it with interviews and some in car shots. Lots of nice interviews with other teams also.

Who's that old fat guy changing the left front wheels?

I was looking for you, didn't see you, well have to look again. They did a good job of filming and documenting it, fun to watch.

I was in 5 or 6 shots in the first 10 minutes and a few where I could tell it was me but it didn't show my face.

Spent acouple minutes looking, came up empty. anywhere online I can check this out ??

It was on NBC's HD sport channel 220 [Direct TV] Friday night at 9 pm pacific, don't know if it is online somewhere?, if it is it well be something to do with a NBC search.

DVR'd it Friday night, watched it Sunday. Well done entertainment. My only problem was that it was 25'ish minutes before we even started the race. I understand that setting the stage is important, and I understand that airtime is valuable, but at least in regards to the story being told it felt like the rest of the story was rushed.

I did really enjoy it though. I just wish there was a "directors cut" that was about twice as long with a lot more detail.

Is there any way that you would be able to share this with those of us that did not have access to a tv last weekend? Im not sure if there is a way to take stuff off of a dvr or not...

Chiburbian 03-19-2013 12:37 PM

It's a DirectTV DVR, so I am not sure if it's possible. I heard a couple years back that the cable companies were encrypting to prevent stuff from being DVR'd and then uploaded elsewhere. Anyone have any other information?

jmann 03-19-2013 12:43 PM

It was more of a doc. on what it takes to run the 25 hrs., then just coverage of the cars going around the track like a normal broadcast would be. I thought it did a ggod job of promoting the event and Emillio and the others gave great interviews and insight. Needed to be 2 hrs long to cover more of the cars on the track time, maybe next year.

I too DVR'd it but I don't know of a way to dvd it off the dvr and if you could you would be breaking the copyright laws.

NASA posted the 2011 version to Youtube, so I assume this one will get there eventually. Though the 2011 one wasn't posted until April 2012, so it may be a while.

By "a while" I clearly meant "yesterday". Can't anybody read?

Gryff 03-19-2013 06:40 PM

Clearly not, Thanks for the update Andrew!
