Well, my exhaust is done. 3" from the bellhousing back. This was the last part of the car that needed to be done before tuning. Hoping to have it out on the road again this weekend. <fingers crossed>

I like it, how does it sound?

ray_sir_6 07-31-2008 03:10 PM

Haven't had a chance to drive it. It still needs the AEM EMS tuned.

Its gonna be loud as hell with that potato canon.

NoirRacer 07-31-2008 03:27 PM

Is there a high flow cat or a straight pipe?

Not any louder than it was before. I had 2.5" pipe, a cherrybomb muffler, and a turndown before the diff.

No cat, just a resonator.

Looks good. What are you putting in the original bumper cutout?

Looking at the picture it appears that the lower half of the bumper ( where the cutout would have been) is cut away.

I would like to see a full rear picture as well. And ask what you did with the plastic part under the cover that used to hold it's shape.

It's gone. I trimmed it all to the same level as the top-most area on the original exhaust tip cutout.

The bumper core is gone, gonna go with a flat underside and diffuser.

Nice work on the welds and bends in the pipe. Looks like a well made exhaust for sure.

I like the vband muffler too... nice touch!

ray_sir_6 07-31-2008 05:00 PM

The owner/fabricator/welder/engine builder/basicly everything has really nice looking welds. They look just like the robotic welds that are on the Full-Race parts. He's been doing it for 18yrs.

How do you like the FM framerails/butterfly?

They were a PITA to install, and I had a lift and air tools. I haven't driven it with it yet, it was part of my 6 month long parts install and build. I really miss driving it, and I know it'll be alot more fun now. It originally went down for a blown 1.6 rear, and I have just been adding to the list of modifications since it was broken. Nothing like putting $5k-6k worth of parts on a non-running car.

eljefe305 07-31-2008 05:25 PM

are there any pictures of the downpipe?

icantthink4155 07-31-2008 05:26 PM

if you ever get a leak, you could just crawl through it and find it!
