600HP+ Miata

:eek5:

http://globalnetspace.com/miata.html

I think we've just answered the question of what is enough power.

Assuming the dyno is legit, that's a pretty damn impressive number out of a 2.0l engine.

turbopezz 09-21-2006 11:33 AM

the pictures dont work for me did they work for you.thats from flyingmiata.com

jayc72 09-21-2006 11:50 AM

Worked for me a few minutes ago.

magnamx-5 09-21-2006 11:59 AM

There is a 616whp miata on m.net, fritch even road in it makes me want a six speed and bigger turbo.

RicanmiataRacer 09-21-2006 12:05 PM

Thats fucking insane!

miatamania 09-21-2006 02:25 PM

Braineack 09-21-2006 02:54 PM

I bet that thing is fun against Ferraris.

no one suspects the miata, no one.

samnavy 09-21-2006 03:18 PM

That's nuthin', he only makes 180hp at 5k... shoot, mine will probably do that!

The bottom line of having a fast car is to score more poon, right? How does yellow factor in there?:gay:

OK, OK, OK... I like it!

Braineack 09-21-2006 03:22 PM

I think it's a couple gears now too, according to his M.net pots. But it's acutally a pretty nice curve. I've seen STIs go from like 100hp to 500hp in .5k

UofACATS 09-21-2006 04:06 PM

The world's first dyno queen miata. Not trying to hate, it's bad-ass, but they start the chart at 4900. Show the whole thing dudes, of course it's not going to have area under the curve. That obviously wasn't the point, right?

I can't tell if that buldge is offset to accommodate the manifold? I don't think it is. Fab work looks good.

Are those 17s? Must run slicks  How did they dyno this bad boy?

Cool anyways.

Braineack 09-21-2006 04:12 PM

there's a video of the run on his page. his M.net post is here : http://forum.miata.net/vb/showthread.php?t=200385

Splitime 09-21-2006 04:16 PM

No coolant reroute? Interesting.

jayc72 09-21-2006 04:17 PM

The impressive bit isn't the 616hp (well that's still impressive) it's that it's running 27.5psi of boost. Strong motor.

UofACATS 09-21-2006 04:20 PM

So, FM built it? or just dyno there?

link: sweet, ill check it out

jayc72 09-21-2006 04:22 PM

FM stroker kit, don't know where it was getting the dyno done or who put the engine together for him.

UofACATS 09-21-2006 04:23 PM

Well he ran an 11.02. Guess it's not a dyno queen

Pitlab77 09-21-2006 04:47 PM

You mean the curve looks like a supra's?

jayc72 09-21-2006 05:03 PM

He got the 11.x on 205 drag radials. The problem this car has isn't going to be power, but traction.

gecelica1 09-21-2006 05:40 PM

looks like some serious fun.........

magnamx-5 09-22-2006 12:55 AM

makes me want a cowl hood to looks nice even if it is yellow:P

I noticed this too, and no heater core. I wonder if anything is flowing out the back of the head.

Braineack 09-22-2006 11:47 AM

now if he could only drive it:

thats when it becomes the highway beast......my taste entirely..... im loving it. if i werent getting an FD, this is the type miata i'd shoot for

RusMan 09-25-2006 08:24 PM

What's that FM Guru rear end they're talking about on .net?

mxv 09-25-2006 08:37 PM

haha id sure like to see his "fast" 1/4 mile with a powerband like that. wow if thats the highest hp miata out there it wont take long for that to get topped. hard to beleive there arnt any monster miatas making that much:confused:

jayc72 09-25-2006 08:59 PM

I don't there's any claim that it's the highest HP miata, just the highest HP with a "stock" motor. There is someone local to me that has a V8 Supercharged miata that's on the bottle. Bet it's in excess of 600whp.

aw ok makes sense now:ugh2:

RusMan 09-26-2006 12:23 AM

Thanks pitlab, does anyone know if he's running a 1.8 diff or rx7 one? Just wondering at what will work with high hp #'s.

bripab007 09-26-2006 08:25 AM

He's running the Guru LSD in a 7" Miata diff. housing.

BTW, pretty sure that's not a stock motor...and pretty sure it's just about the highest-power BP out there. Skyler's car was probably "only" making around 500-550rwhp, and he turned a 10.4 @ 139 (memory's a little fuzzy, but I believe that's about right).

Most of the V8 guys don't go for crazy amounts of horsepower, believe it or not. A few of them are in the 400+rwhp/lb-ft zone, but the majority are in the 250-350rwhp area.

jayc72 09-26-2006 10:36 AM

That's why I put the "" around stock :)

RusMan 09-26-2006 11:03 PM

I think he ment stock as in not swapped engine.

So my 1.8 '99 diff should be good for like 3-400whp right? Just wondering because I might go high hp, just doing my research for now.

bripab007 09-26-2006 11:55 PM

Depends on how ya use it, but yeah, I'd guess that if you're not doing 1.5-second 60-ft. launches on drag radials every Friday night, it'll probably last a long time. The 5-speed and the axles will definitely break first.
