It was a joke. I was trying to point out that we don't know what kind of car you're referring to or the year. One would assume you want to know about a Miata and (assuming 10k miles per year driving) it's a 2002-2003... but with nothing written in your signature to tell us what you drive, it's anybody's guess.
You could quite easily have a 2006 that you've driven the piss out of which would dramatically change what's required at that particular service interval over a 2005 or older. Hint... it's a good idea to be as detailed as possible when asking questions. Information you might want to include in a post like this is... year of car, how hard driven, previous maintenance, suspicions, modifications, what the book says is included in the work, the name of the shop you're taking it to and their hourly rate, whether they use OEM or afterarket parts, etc. The easy answer for a 60k mile service on a BP motor that includes timing belt, water pump, fluid flush, bleeding, etc... is somewhere between $400 and $700 depending on where you take it and the parts they source. Don't be surprised if they discover your brakes are shot and shocks are starting to wear out. And Pats response is appropriate. Doing the same thing to him in his thread about webhosting is bullshit and will get you banned around here. |

Currently has a greddy kit on it, did a inspection on the car before i bought it and its leaking oil from the front seal. Most miata 60k mile service package includes the seals i need. I was quoted $1k for the service |

The quote of $1k is absurd. Where did you take it? You need to go to the SOCALM website and check their vendors and join the club. You can almost get your motor rebuilt for that price. Do you know if it's a short-nose crank or not? You can find fresh 1.6's for $200 just about anywhere... for that price, it makes way more sense to just swap in a different motor that's in good shape. |

Of course... if you had a couple hundred posts and a reputation. But since you're a NOOB, it makes you look like a douche. Sorry.

Anyways, yes i know about the short nose issue, on my 2nd miata. This was a quote from Integrated Performance, apparently/supposedly they bought Brainstorm and changed the name of the shop. |
The 'depends' response in the webhosting talk thread was just such a let down for me.

more than you can afford, pal.

Go get yourself a chilton book and get in there yourself.

a 30k service here (acura dealer) is $500 includeing parts and labor. but there really isnt much to the service, and most of the time, the techs don't to it all anyway. just do the stuff yourself.
