87,oh no you didn't!
This weekend is the last for drag racing, finally hoping to run 10psi, and my wife borrows the miata today and fills it with 87. I am so pissed, also because I didn't want her to take it because my new injectors keep springing leaks. How much race gas (112) do I need to get me back to 93? Please tell me this is possible. I really can't drive around the state this week.

How much gas is in there? Why not just drain the tank?

I say drain it. Pull the line going to the filter and turn the key on while it pumps that shit out into some container. There might be another way, i just don't know of one.

Get yourself a fuel jug and run a fuel line to it, then jump the f/p and ground in the diagnostic box then turn the ignition key on, but don't start the car. Should be empty in 10 minutes or so. You can then put that fuel back in after the race.
Or you can run that line into her car and fill her car up with that 87 pisswater. |
So I can't just add race gas?

You would have to run the engie first (to make space). FOr my time i would just pump it out and enjoy the drive

You probably could. If you could squeeze 3 gallons of 112 in there that should put you at 93.25. Good Luck. Note running on a full tank of anything isn't desirable. I usuall run between 1/2 to 1/4 tank for weight savings.

That settles it, then. Time to get skin cancer. I am going to need gas to snow blow my new fancy gravel driveway I got today. :)

Don't worry, I am going to use the stock o rings with the 1.8 injectors. Something about the new Os that they keep blowing out. |
If you don't want to go through the hassle of draining it, just pull the wastegate actuator arm off and drive it w/o boost for a couple days... going back NA for a few days gives you a true appreciation of exactly how much power boost provides:)

I drained the tank, put that crap into the minivan. Should I try some pure 115? What AFR can I get away with? (stock clutch and rearend need to go..) |

Simple solution if that is a problem is a paperclip bent very carefully to ground FP and GND on the Diag port together. That will make your fuel pump run constant, its my simple solution for fuel pump control on megasquirt and has been for the last 6 months.

run 12:0-12.5:1 regardless of higher octane.
the extra detonation protection might be nice, but with fuel, stick to it being about fueling. |
Thanks. My clutch won't take just 10psi anyways.
I did just replace my dif fluid and there was only a tiny amount of 'metal dust' (?) on the drain magnet. Seems good for 4K turbo miles, But I am still working on that 97 m-edition parts car. |
