'90 miata mystery tube
Pulled the splash guard off my girlfriend's (new to her) 90 for an oil change, and this tube hung down.
It seems to be kinda crimped, but not really crimped well--almost as if it got run over or pinched or something. Her a/c and p/s work perfectly.. she has aftermarket braided brakes. is this a leftover from the old setup? It disappears into the subframe and I'm unable to follow it from there... http://m-lev.com/wp-content/uploads/...518470549.jpeg http://m-lev.com/wp-content/uploads/...518475950.jpeg http://m-lev.com/wp-content/uploads/...518479612.jpeg |
For the charcoal canister?
|
Looks more like a fuel line
|
Part of the evaporative emission controls (i.e., charcoal canister).
|
So, where is it coming from and where do I need to make sure fuel isn't spilling out? o.O
|
It just vents the charcoal canister to atmosphere...
Chances are the canister is shot anyway. I think it goes to the bottom of the can anyway. |

That's the charcoal cannister's vent to atmosphere. Vents out the frame rail somewhere.
Here's how the bracket attaches to the shelf on the passenger side behind the headlight: https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...1&d=1411520712 Here's a picture of my charcoal cannister bypass: https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...1&d=1411520712 |
Y'all rock, thanks. As long as it isn't dumping fuel right out the tank or anything, I think it'll be fine.
