ACT clutch noise ?

So I have an ACT Extreme w/organic street disk (307ft/lbs rated) and it makes a high pitched (not loud but noticable outside the car) sound. When I just barely touch the clutch pedal it goes away when I'm in gear it's generally not there but idling it's noticeable. Can I just preload the clutch a bit via pedal adjust (seems this would make it go away since just touching the pedal makes it stop) ? Or is this going to have any significant impact on clutch wear or heating ?

your throwout bearing most likely has dirt under it take the boot off and spray a little brake parts cleaner in there on the trannyshaft while idleing, and follow with a slight shoot of wd40 just dont spray on your disk ;) or if you have time take it apart and lube the shaft with some grease and reinstall. In the end it might bugger your shaft abit and cause some weird wear characteristics. Prelaoding the clutch is bad you won't get the full holding power out of it if you prelaod it.

Sounds like the infamous ACT clutch squeek.

your plan will constantly slip the clutch, which will wear the piss out of it. bad idea.

I had a similar problem a year or so ago. Look for a thread I started with a response from olderguy on the remedy. I don't recall what it was, but he had me spray something with grease. I remember using motorcycle chain lube, but don't remember what I sprayed it on. Cured my problem though.

throw some grease on the tip of the bar that touches the Hydrolic piston thingy... Mazda put out a Tech Service Bulletin about it.

More or less the rubber cap that makes contact to the piston rattles and squeeks around then with a tiny bit o force on the pedal it makes enough contact to stop it from rattling... add a bit o greese and it doesnt make rubber to metal squeek.
