aem uego install question?

ok i picked up the aem uego setup today and am trying to find out how to install this into my car without having to weld on another o2 bung. i figure remove the oem o2 sensor and screw this one into its spot but what wire would i tap into to go to my stock ecu for its signal? or is there even a way to do this?

the aem uego does not have an output for that. It would be called a narrowband simulator and I believe the LC1's have it.

so the only way i can install this is to add another bung and still use the stock o2 sensor? is there a best place to install the bung?

about 18" from the turbine exit

ok thanks guys.

i thought 36" was ideal so as not to damage the sensor

clarification: I always assume turbo on this forum

Mount the O2 sensor in the exhaust system at least 18 inches downstream from the exhaust port. If you anticipate high EGT's (over 800C), run a turbocharger, run at high RPM for extended periods of time or plan on running leaded race fuel then you must mount the sensor at least 36 inches or more downstream of the exhaust port as all of these can cause the sensor to overheat.

Depending on your exhaust configuration, a local non-chain shop should be able to install a second bung for very little money. In my case, when it came time to install the permanent fittings in my Tony downpipe, I brought the downpipe to an independant muffler shop and they welded in three fittings (two O2 bungs and an EGT fitting) for something like $20. I brought the fittings and pre-drilled the holes in the pipe. Seems that owner-operated shops will usually cut you a nice deal if they get to do something interesting for a change.

I had a new o2 bung welded on for $27 at the local Midas. That included the bung and drilling the hole.

$10 at a local muffler shop. i bought the downpipe in and supplied the bung. they even resprayed the begi dp after since the paint burned off near the bung

ok so 36" down stream. cool thanks again guys.

I mounted mine about 4 inches from the turbine discharge. I just kept my egt's low. The further away, the less accurate.
