AEM UEGO owners chime in!
What's your worst experience with the AEM UEGO?
Inaccurate? DOA? Didn't fit? Ugly? Smells bad? Whatever, I want to hear it. Trying to make a decision... |
Hmm, it is a very good product. I guess if i had to say something bad, since there are 2 cords coming out of it, it is a little bit harder to mount. However, you dont have to deal with a separate controller.
|
Exactly the kind of input I need. Thanks!
|
only came with 2 stickers, i wish it had more
|
I love mine. I found it much easier to install than the LC-1 and since it included the gauge it turned out to be cheaper too.
|
+1 never an issue since day 1.
|
I don't have a worst experience with my AEM UEGO, I fitted it, it worked, it still works, and it looks good. What else is there to say?
Oh yeh, maybe more stickers would be nice.....:giggle: |
mine's worked great since I got it. the only 'problem' is I'd probably want a little larger range, its only 10-17. although you shouldn't be running below 10 or higher than 17, so no worries really.
|
The worst part was that I had to gut my AC eyeball to fit the gauge/controller in the center console AC vent. Other than that, no complaints.

Short life of the sender unit. Mine lasted less than 3500 miles

I have a stupid older style (I assume) that is difficult to mount. Have had some trouble with readings, but I think that's more from abuse than the actual quality of the gauge.

Had mine for a few months now and it's just fine. Suppose that the only comment I could make is that it has a cool feature that most don't think of... automatic dimming! Makes a huge difference when u drive in outback roads and glare is a problem; so it's really a +++ in my book.
Also was pleased with the choices face plates and trim rings... Negative, the trim rings look sorta cheap sitting next to my ProSport gauges; but in all I'd buy it again. Cheers, Prospero |
I agree with Prospero, the trim rings are a bit cheesy, and they are HUGE. I painted mine flat black to match my boost gauge, and it looks a bit better. The only downfall I can think of is that it just isn't bright enough during the day.

I love mine. No downfalls imo.. was easy to mount, just drilled two holes on the tranny heat shield thing, and zip tied it too for extra enforcement.
Its badass. Only 230 shipped from nester for mine as well. |
Mine went bad after about a month. Sent it to AEM. They sent it back saying it was fine even after I typed up a whole page doumenting shit...even attached pictures of the gauge hooked up and not working I had tried and that I wasnt an electronics noob and it was 100% no doubt definitely bad.
Had to bug one of the techs there to convince him it was bad. Eventually they sent me a new unit which made me happy but I was without my gauge for a good month getting this stuff figured out. I've had a TechEdge 2.0, an LM-1 and now the UEGO. Despite the problems the UEGO is still my fav overall. |

How long has it been since replacing the sensor? Have you had any problems since?
As this was the first sender and I was doing my tuning with it and getting through Emission Testing, I did not expect it to last long. Rebuilt motor, new turbo and Link ECU Now that I know the warning signs of a sender going bad I can replace it before it takes the car off the road. To the OP the signs where eratic readings Lean/Rich crusing at the same speed .... then it would return to reading correct. This went on for about a week before it stopped working. Now that I now this I would order a new sender when it starts happing. At the time when I was shopping for a Wideband I did look at the Innovative and almost bought one, but from reading the other thread and following the links to the other forum I am glad I bought the AEM unit. |
I have only used mine for a few weeks, but so far it was simple to install, and works great! And was cheap.
