Affordable 5 point compatible seats
 

So, my rollbar should be arriving next week as well as a pleathora of other parts. I'd like to get some seats in the near future to allow the proper use of 5 points.

I'm looking for something in the cost neighborhood of the Sparco Sprint V. AKA ~$300/ea.

I found a local shop that sells the MOMO t-club seats @ $265/ea and I've always heard good stuff about momo seats so that the way I'm leaning.

Anyone know if these would fit? Everyone has Sprints, I'd like to be a little different (even considered Kirkey).

All those aluminum seats are pretty darn affordable. Look at Ultrashield also. The covers for the aluminum seats are pretty affordable to replace too. Most of the cheaper seats from Corbeau, Momo, Sparco, etc. look pretty crappy pretty quickly. Don't hold up to daily driver wear and tear. Being able to easily and affordably put a new cover on the aluminums is a plus to my thinking.

Spend a bunch of time sitting in anything you are considering 1st though. Comfort is king! You don't want to spend all the time, effort and money and hate the seat when you have to drive anywhere. For comfort look at any seats that are used by endurance racers!

problem there is that there isn't a single place on my side of town the actually keeps seats in house. they all order per request. so, i probably won't get to sit in anything I choose, I'm primarily going by reviews from others who claim to be my size/weight.

5'11", 190lb...and I rock sprints. However, I had to widen them for my lats because I'm pretty much the most pumped motherfucker you've ever seen in your life.


Can you still get sprints? I bought mine for $200 from checkpoint racing 2 years ago, but they don't sell them anymore. I'd like to get a cheap sparco that I can use a nutstrap on though.

The Sprint 5 is very comfortable and alot nicer than the original Sprint. It is now bottom AND side mountable as well.

that is affordable and comfortable (think ~300/seat and reclinable)? Anyone use a similar seat and like it ? (not to thread hijack).

I got my Sprints on Saturday through Speedware (Thanks Kelly and Ryan). They look and feel great, I couldn't believe how much nicer a real seat is during spirited driving and it's even more comfortable than the stock seats in my opinion. I'm only 5'10" 140lb, 31" waist though.

Close to my dimensions... 5'11" @ 160 lbs... 32" waist.

What was the price/shipping on the sprints from speedware? they give an mt.net discount?

I got my sprints from kelly a while back, just call them and let them know your on miataturbo.net and you will get a good price :)

BTW im 130lbs and fit great in the sprint 5 2007 versions. Great seat in my opinion.

It looks like I'll be ordering them 1 at a time due to my undisciplined ass not being able to hold that much cash at once without buying a firearm or two. hopefully I can get the drivers side ordered end of August.

you have no idea... I've been averaging a gun a month for the 9 months or so. Hell, I picked up a nice semi-auto 12 ga (3" magnum) and an AK47 at a gun auction for $400 (for both). Some deals you just can't pass on. That's like "buy an AK and get a free sporting clays gun".

If you've got the time and money, sure.

You have to get a local Sherrif to sign off on a Class III form, pay your $200 (IIRC) tax stamp to the ATF. Takes time, effort and money, but its doable. Not to mention a select-fire AK isn't cheap either.

Same process for getting a supressor.
