Aftermarket Radiator?

So what aftermarket radiator are you guys running? I've read mixed reviews of the Koyos but the pricy PWRs seem to only be praised. I'm interested in the higher capacity Koyo. Does anybody have pictures of an installed 55mm Koyo?

I have the Koyo 37mm,it just barely fits.

coolradiator.com, fuck the Koyo.

22" Ford PRC double pass

For the Coolrad do you run the 1" or the 2 1/16" ?

If you run the larger one who is the fit?

Braineack 04-12-2007 03:37 PM

i have the 1", plenty big...

mschlang 04-12-2007 04:59 PM

The 2 1/16" is a hell of a shoehorn fit. If I weren't in the desert I would have gone with the 1". I had to modify the fan shroud, move the AC condenser, grind the mounts, and move the swaybar a bit. It's huge. There are two threads titled "coolradiators.com" with more info.

Thanks,

I must be getting old, I even posted in that thread.

I will have to add that to next winters mod list and I can tell myself how much money I saved.

I was going to buy the 55mm koyo, but settled on the 37mm one. Big enough, never had any cooling issues with it.

Why do you need one? Are you having cooling issues now or are you installing this thing in advance of expected future cooling issues?

If you are having cooling issues, there are several fixes to try before swapping out to a larger radiator. There are a lot of us running good power at decent boost levels with no cooling problems at all.

My stock radiator failed at 130k miles and I replaced it with the stock OEM automatic radiator. I run the parallel fan mod and a touch of water wetter. I have the bellypan removed and no A/C condensor. I've been boosted since August and haven't had a single cooling issue. If it's for the bliing factor and you've got the cash, then go for it... just putting out there that you might not need one.

The purpose of my car is 100% track. Reliability = Cooling
