Airbag Controller?
I have tried searching on this but found nothing. I have fitted a Sparco steering wheel and used the resistor to stop the airbag light from flashing. But next to the hood latch on top of the radiator support is a black cube that I think is the airbag sensor. Is there a trick for removing it. It does nothing as I have removed the airbag, I tried just unplugging it and the airbag light came back on.

Unplug and remove it. Then remove the airbag computer under the dash.

For those of us who are using aftermarket steering wheels and have no intention to ever go back to the airbag (perticularly scarry first gen ones) would removing the airbag computer not be easier than the resistor in the first place?
I have a 94 with a link in it. If I rip out the stock airbags, the airbag computer, and the sensors, nothing else on the car should care should it? |
Can always just remove the Bulb in the cluster no?
|
rip it all out. there's three sensors in the front bumper, left, middle, and right. you can take them all out, along with the ford (x2 I think) airbag computers under the dash
|
do you have to pull the dash to remove the computers? where are they?
|
You do have to pull the dash to remove the computer. It is on a little shelf behind and above the heater core box. One bolt holds it in.

Pic? I am about to rip it all out and want to make sure I am taking the right thing out...
