Another steering wheel install
9 Attachment(s)
Hey all,
First post here and thought I would share my steering wheel install. Everywhere I read talked about modifying the clockspring connector so that it would touch the horn ring, or fit just underneath it or something of that sort. Instead I did this: Cut the connector from the clockspring: https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1406728794 Go down to where the clockspring connects at the other end and solder the ground wire to one of the unused airbag wires. https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1406728794 Strip the two wires on the steering wheel side of the clockspring: https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1406728794 Solder/Crimp some connectors on: https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1406728794 Pull the horn ring off the hub adapter (or cut a hole in it): https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1406728794 Hook up the quick release (or steering wheel): https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1406728794 Final Product: https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1406728794 Thanks for checking it out! Hope this helps someone out. **Bonus picture of my new wheels i got yesterday https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1406728794 https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1406728794 |
Looks good. How do you like that NRG hub? Seems the steering wheel sticks out further.

What size wheels are you running?

I'll definitely be using this once the funds allow me to get a wheel, much appreciated. And congrats on the Konigs, those were my second choice. They look sick. I got the Gold Flatouts, love em.
