I bought my wiseco's, Engine gasket kit, and 1.8 swap kit from them. Honestly they are top notch as far as that goes. Its in their dyno numbers where they screw you. You get a 9psi Hydra Setup on your 99. Their dyno says 240-250whp. Then you dyno and find its more like 210-220whp.

So they give quasi-bogus dyno numbers...210-220rwhp from 9PSI with excellent support is certainly worth the same as it would be from BEGi, right?

(Andy, not trying to pick on you, but I am trying to pick apart the vast majority of complaints I see about FM...for the most part, those complaints are baloney)

My car dons some small items from FM (msd, mbc, heatshield). The 2 times I placed an order with them, they shipped my product the same day.

I agree, they are a good company and there are a lot of retarded complaints about them. But when someone thinks they are getting 250whp and then its really 30whp LESS, thats false advertising

Only FM thing on my car is the clutch switch bypass..

no reason really for not getting more from them but their prices are generally not budget friendly.

Yes, that would be false advertising, but I still have yet to be convinced the correction factor on their dyno is that far off.

Now that they are using a non-standard dyno (that Swedish thing?), WTH are they going to advertise that?

Yeah, they use a Rototest dyno: http://www.flyinmiata.com/tech/rototest.asp

It's kinda fun poking around Rototest's website, as they have a metric ****-ton of dyno graphs of stock cars.

Show me someone that can make 250whp on a stock 1.8L w/ just a FM kit and a GT2560R @ 12psi. On 91 octane pump.

I have a dyno sheet from Aug. 2002 when I dynoed my fairly new BEGI 4.2 system, as it was called then. at sea level in florence south carolina, probaly 90 degrees that day. I was usning one of the first Bipes ACU's at the time along with the pierburgh/AFPR, 1.6L injectors, T28/25 sleeve bearing turbo , enthuza single turbo exhaust, cat delete pipe. It made 183hp, & 157 torque. dynojet . don't know correction factor but it was about 100 ft above sea level in columbia S.C. I think they advertised them at the time at 175 HP. they probaly still have the dynos on their website. it did spool late had a plateau from 3K to 4K rpm then peak torque at 4700 rpm. intercooled. 1.6

yeah I don't know how far off their dyno claims are, they claim the Voodoo I does 170rwhp at 6psi with their turbo exhaust and I did 175rwhp at 6psi with the stock midpipe/cat/and a retarded borla muffler. Seems pretty spot on with that kit at least.

Do you think yours was the only box that didn't get shipped out in time for the X-mas closing? I can't imagine it was, otherwise they'd have thrown it in the drop box.

More likely, they had tons of stuff that didn't get out before X-mas, but, when you're a company looking to take some time off, you have to draw the line somewhere and stop working, otherwise you'll never have any vacation.
