Default Lifter noise/ticking???!!!

I've got a '90 with 120K miles, greddy. I've been hearing some ticking/lifter noise which comes and goes often. Do I have a problem? Any recommendations on how to fix. Oil, drive to redline, etc... HELP!

Since I have a -99 with solid lifters, I should not be commenting on this... but I feel bored.

it depends on what you mean by "ticking". What oil are you running the car on and when was it change the last time? The injectors make a bit of noise and that is perfectly normal. The hydraulic lifters in your car can make some noise if the wrong oil is used or if they have been sitting still for a while.

Torkel:
Changed oil with 1000 miles of use so far, I used Castrol 10/40. Which oil is recommended?

Did he just say "god bless"?

I have an old girlfriend from high school that would never let me in her pants... we still keep in touch through email. She was some kind of Jesus-freak (don't ask me which brand) and I was too dumb to realize I'd never get in there. She ends all her emails with "god bless" and it totally creeps me out cause all I can think about is her smokin' 17yr old body in my parents swimming pool.

I'll be 32 next month btw.

Had the same issue; running AMSOIL 10w30 and it goes away the second the oil hits the head.
