Anyone have experience with this Trailer?
I'd be pulling it with my miata.
Shop Carry-On Trailer 3-ft 6-in x 5-ft Wire Mesh Utility Trailer at Lowes.com I think i'll need the ball hitch attachment for my FM tow thingy. I'm looking to fit a bicycle, all my tools (just basic hand tools) at least one set of tires (205 at the widest) jack and stands. |
From what I was reading, I'd need to service the bearings right away, just to make sure they are packed well with grease?
Large diameter tires should help as well. The trailer doesn't seem too heavy either, and I wouldn't have to fool around with add ons, just throw a tarp over everything. |
Why buy that over the Harbor Freight one that's half the price?
http://www.harborfreight.com/automot...res-42708.html The Lowe's one is slightly longer, but the wire mesh fence isn't useful and the pre-made floor is actually kind of a disadvantage because you can't sink the tires down into it. You really want a big lockable box on the trailer, IMHO, it makes it much easier to secure stuff. --Ian |
my dad said he can "soup up" a HF trailer (or whatever trailer) for you, but didn't have the time to do some of the extensive stuff you wanted (like bolt on walls/roof, etc). Building a box tho, probably won't be too hard

codrus- thanks for the input!
18psi- oh ok! well, I don't know what to have him do... I want to fit all my stuff (bicycle, the items you have plus two regular pieces of luggage) on the trailer so I can be mobile with all my possessions. I want a quality trailer that will be safe to tow, and somewhat secure. |
