Anyone in Lowcountry?

I just moved to Charleston, SC a couple months ago and I'm looking to find some miata owners that have aftermarket seats they'd let me sit in to check them out. I want to get some seats, but I'm a fairly small guy and I'm not sure what will work well for me. I'm 5'6" and have about a 29" waist. I've been looking at Momo Starts, Sparco Sprints and a couple others. I may go to the Myrtle Beach autocross and see if anyone will let me try their seats out as well.

Please let me know if any of you have or know someone who has aftermarket seats that might be good for me in the area.

Um I believe rmcelwee is from that area. Me and SloS13 are in Columbia and I believe somebody is in the upstate. Since your a smaller guy the Corbeau Clubman should work good with you, and it will fit inside the car nicely. I don't know of anyone with a Miata headed to Myrtle for the autocross, I may go if the miata is done in time, but I'll probably have to attend one in December.

Any performance shops in the area that might have some on display? Some shops that sell race and performance parts that also do work on cars are likely to have some of their own or customer cars with seats you might be able to sit in. As a smaller guy you'll have an easier time finding stuff you like than us fuller figured gals.

Damn, the next time I drive to VA, I'll have to bring my wardrobe for some trading. I'd say we should meet up in the middle, but as far as I've seen there IS nothing in the middle.

:pitlab:

But in all seriousness, what seat do you have? Might help me in my quest.

Even if it's not a miata, I'm sure some people have seats that would fit in the miata. I'll have to check out the Clubman. Last time I looked at Corbeau I thought I wanted a reclining seat. I'm actually not sure if I'm going to need a reclining seat to fit properly since a solid seat may put my upper body too close to the steering wheel if I try to get my legs close enough to the pedals.

Sux being small.

I'll have to check out the local performance shops and see if they carry any seats that might work for me.
