Anyone who has not done this, Should!
Take your most beat up totaled Miata and cut it apart put some lights and a plate on it and drive it. What a great toy. Bone stock 92 Miata drive train and no weight. Had it about a year and a half and never fails to put a smile on my face. Under powered, yes. Unrefined, yes but epic fun. Soon as weather breaks 82* today I got it out for my daily driver.

The red mirrors add what, 5 whp?
|
didnt you used to bring this down to the Verona Autocross?
|
Never get it past inspection in NY.
|
Virginia has "antique" plates for cars over 25 years old. No inspection, no regesteration for life. Pretty sweet.
Red mirrors are worth bout 5% in hp. Needs a lowering bad, went up almost 1.5" after all the weight came out. This is budget build! Thinking of cutting springs while on car, I'm lazy. |

It is a build.... He added lightness.

Budget build or not. Cut springs will cause you a headache.
Even if you get cheap lowering springs rather than use the Bilstein thread it will be worth it in the long run. Cheap fixes cost more the longer you have the car. |
Un-build ?

Yea to pass autox tech I have to find a way to cover the radiator and hoses. They dont want a cone destroying one. Understood. That guy got it figured out.
An early NA with GReddy turbo and a lot of weight reduction. It won almost everything in NJ, NY and PA, then continued in the Tampa, FL area. Cut out in the front was for turbo air intake, radiator was where the passenger sits with an intake scoop and fan blowing out the side |

Since my old 90 shell has rusted away yet I may look into something like this.
