ARP head stud and head installation clearance?
I am getting new head fasteners. I'm pretty sure the stock head bolts are stretched too much, causing my head gasket to leak.
I am just wondering is it possible to install a head with ARP studs in the block and the engine in the car? I can remove the coils and camshaft position sensor, but I am not sure if the rear water neck will clear the firewall. |
yes it is. if nothign else take the rear waterneck off there.

well, i'm sure it will fit fine with nothing on the back, but i am not in the mood for installing the rear water neck with the head on the engine if i can help it. I suppose i'll have to pussy up and do it if worse comes to worst. This has been done before, correct?
Ideally I would prefer not to have to remove everything in order to remove and replace the head when necessary. |
The head goes on fine with ARP studs with the factory rear waterneck installed (the little one with just a heater core output). If you have a coolant reroute then it's gonna depend on how far your reroute housing sticks out.
