engine lift points - am I screwed?
I plan on removing my engine in less than a week, but I just realized I removed the lift points a long time ago..
1. Do I need them?
2. Has anyone removed an engine w/o them?
3. If I need them, can anyone loan me theirs?

dont lift by loose bolts or you'll be one unhappy camper. make a flat plate like the original lift point if you can.
why: the bolts wont support the weight well in bending. they support it by clamping the hook to the motor and using that clamping force (tension) to prevent relative movement of the two.

So Summit was selling this little $13 dealy that's basically a length of chain with two bolt-on tabs on the ends, so I got that. Now I just gotta get the bolts.
Oh, I ordered an oil pan gasket and it came in today. It's two curved gasket fragments (about 4" long) and two tubes of silicone in a box.. is that right?
