Angry Once again

My Miata has been raped by a SUV. Yesterday while playing tennis, parked away from everyone else it got backed into. The guy was driving a 2001 Expedition, and of course no damage to him. But he managed to destroy the rear bumper cover, push in the rear finish panel by an inch, and tweak the trunk lid. The GV finish panel survived though, and just needs some minor work to the gel coat. Soooo off to the body shop again

Park closer to the general population. People are more careful around crowds, if you park in nomansland people stop caring.

I ALWAYS back into parking spots. Id much rather the front get hit over possibly taking damage to the rear quarters.

Everyone at work backs into the parking spaces and I hate it. We only have two rows of parking and they take them both up. The one that they're attempting to back in to amd the one they're currently pull forward into. Pulling in forward is more manly anyways.
I'd rather risk the rear. Yes you can't replace the rear quarters, but there's all the engine and cooling hardware up front.

All easier and cheaper to replace.

Sorry to hear Brian, sucks that it's so soon after all the nice paint and the GV.

Good opportunity to blend the edges of the GV panel into the surrounding bodywork though...

but think about it, if I blend it in how much harder it will be to fix the next time a SUV has its way with the car.

This might be a good time to get that Boxster I have been wanting.

I thought about that. But if you have to paint anyway, how much harder is it really?

Here's a quick something to entice you.

Edit- So, I may have blended the trunk into the body a bit. But uhh... hey this is some good chard...

You need to start playing sports in which you practice throwing projectiles so you can "accidentally" hit thiese people with such objects later. Did you see it happen of did fagholesuvfuckface wait for you to come out?

The Hispanic gentle man was very up standing. He came and found me, I heard some one calling out, "who owns the blue Mazda." My heart sank, but he walked up and came straight out with it. Personally I don't think he did it. My car was parked pretty far away from him, and the others. I think he was giving his teenage son a driving lesson, and well **** happened. The entire time we were talking his son was hiding in the back seat trying way to hard to not be noticed. Both of us are with State Farm, so far it has been pretty easy. I should be picking up my rental tomorrow, I am hoping for a Mazda 3

Exactly! I had a similar incident happen to me, only the person in question wasnt so up front about it. I got off of work late, came out to my car and opened the drivers door, it quickly lashed back as the front left corner panel and the door panel met, leaving me with the door opening 3 inches. No letter, nothing. The driver simply left, leaving me with 1200 in damages. With me being a school student and paying my own insurance I cant exactly afford to fix my door. So yes, you are very lucky to have had such an upfront person there. I know a lot of people that would not have done anything about it.

that happens all the time at my college, solution? stop going to college

it happened to my NB probably 2 weeks after i bought it. I go around the passenger side and see the mirror scratched and the rear quarterpanel with scratches, no letter, no note anywhere, Its not bad enough to where you will notice it unless you look but its still little scratched and since i know its there, when i see it, it annoys me.

Its definately not as bad as urs but still i know how you feel.

I hate people like that.

But see this happened at work, You would think that fully grown, mature adults would at least be a little bit more responsible then college kids. Obviously not.

My car was backed into by a Lexus LX570 that couldn't fit into the underground parking at the movie theater. Because he was going down a hill, when he started reversing up he did not see my car and his tow hook smashed in my passenger side fender.

Luckily I was driving the car at the time so he came out, apologized, and gave me his contact info. His assistant (he was the CEO of some company) cut me a cheque for the damage.
