backside of a 1.8 engine
 

anyone have a pic of the backside of a 1.8 engine? a guick search didnt bring up anything helpfull

im trying to find out possibilitys of where the hell my coolant is spraying all over the damn place from and i cant find my haynes manual.

im looking for any closeups of the rear water neck area. right under the CAS and coilpack.

any help would be great

There's a few coolant bits at the back of the motor. If you take the ignition coil out you will have a lot more room to see what is buggered up. There's a coolant temp sensor, the heater core coolant hose, and also from my understanding a rubber grommet blocking a coolant port.

im just trying to see if the sensors or anything have moved around at all..

its a PITA to work on the car in the cold, rain, and when its dark out..

I just had a leak at the back of the head and it ended up being the rear water neck gasket. On the 1.8L the only other things it could be is the oil cooler line, heater hose, or head gasket possibly.

im thinking its coming from a bad gasket on the bottom in the yellow circle or the end of the hose in the white circle area... it could possibly be the bottom of the temp sensor too

it seems to only happen to me at night time and it steams out pretty bad so its hard to look. i also have to be driving it kinda hard for it to over heat, light driving does nothing. it will idle forever at normal temps.

In my experience if it's not dripping or moist when it's cold but it steams when it's hot it's always been a worn out hose.
