bad oil leak

160k My avatar is has really been applying lately!!! Got an oil leak which wasn't too bad, then it got on my belts and it went downhill from that, both belts alt, and PS broke and overheated the engine and cracked the top of my radiator and my battery is drained. First thing i checked was the water coming out of the radiator, no oil there. I drained the oil and no antifreeze there. Literally there is oil everywhere in my engine bay and there's even oil going through the passenger wheel. So i imagine its the seal that goes on the crank splattering everywhere from the belts... >Question: oil pump seal and crank shaft seal is the same thing right? i've seen reports that the seal can be changed out without taking the oil pump off but i may just have to go that route anyway... I want to take advantage of the situation to also pull out the oil pan and tap the oil return line but that requires taking off the crossmember to get the pan to clear. Is there a way to pull the pan without taking off the crossmember or the motor mounts or what is the best way for this? Any advice anyone can give before i do my timing belt, crank shaft seal, cam seals, waterpump, and tap the oil pan? Oh yeah, i got an aluminum radiator:bigtu: |
