Battery Disconnect Master Switch
Does anyone have pics of their battery switch out of the back of the car as needed for some sanctioning bodies?

um if you dont know how to do it then maybe you should pick a dif class. As for placement most come through the middle of the trunk backing or you could come out by the antenna hole as well.

Thankyou maam, but did I ask how to do it? Sorry if I don't have 6k+ posts, but that doesn't mean I'm a retard. I simply asked for pictures so I could decide what would look the best on my street car that runs 10.70s. If you don't welcome new members just let me know and I'll go back to miata net.

If you don't run a radio anymore, run it out the antenna hole. That is where I have mine.

Here is the time slip and a link to the video of that pass. YouTube - 10 70@133 V8 Miata I didn't mean to cause trouble I just didn't need any :hustler: for an honest question. I figured this forum would be a better place to ask "racing" type questions and learn more about our cars' capabilities. I need to do more NHRA safety mods to keep running that fast so instead of reinventing the wheel I might steal some of your ideas. Some of the rules are the same between for instance SCCA and NHRA with minor differences. The engine conversions section on miata net is very helpfull, but the rest of the forums don't like out of the box thinking much. Are there many street strip cars here on the board?

nah man the majority wont even get into 12's and maybe a hand full will venture to 11's or less. But yeah man the antenna is the best place unless you would wanna french it in place on the rear finish panel, i think i saw someone do it through a turn signal housing once but that wouldnt be very safe or legal imo. that car in the right lane musta been overpowering the track or something his mph is pretty damn high compared to yours.

Your 60' time is ridiculous, best I've had mine is 1.9, but I'm not running crazy power. This forum is infinitely better then m.net for modification etc, but you have to get used to how it runs first.

Question is though... is the requirement a battery disconnect or a Real kill switch that cuts alternator and battery. |
Thanks for the compliments and the picture. The switch has to kill the battery, alternator, and engine. So the + off of the altrnator needs to run to the battery side of the switch. The other option would be a 4 prong switch, but ultimately it would accomplish the same thing. Thanks again.

Most of the drag guys mount them on the outside, so in our case antenna hole or rear finish panel. Personally I would prefer to have it on the inside - since you are the first person at the scene every time. ;)
We put the kill switch on the passenger vertical bar of the main hoop on all of our cars at work, but I have also seen them in the left eyeball vent hole of the dash. Same idea, only downfall being if you end up laying on that side of the car, the switch is covered. Don't really remember what NHRA requires - I haven't even dragged in almost a year :( but just throwing those out there. |
Hey scot this guy needs a avatar pic of his motor or someshit so we dont mistake him for a newb at first glance any more

Bad ass car man! Might I ask what your rear end and rear suspension setup is? I just noticed how it came off the line and how there was no drop in the rear, and of course the 1.6 60'.
