BBFW Street vs Innovate 60a motor mounts

Hi Team,

Looking to replace the mounts on my NB. I have future plans of a turbo build coming next year. In the meantime, I'm refreshing the car and upgrading small stuff in preparation.

I've seen some older posts about these mounts, but was hoping there might be some more recent comments to be made. The car will be a weekend/street car with as many autocross/HPDE days I can make time for, maybe a dozen a year. However, my girlfriend does like to ride in it and take trips through the central Texas hill country, so being in the car for maybe a couple of hours at a time will be a thing. So I'm between the BBFW street setup (Stock height), or the Innovate 60a's. I have also heard rumor that AWR is coming out with a 60a and the new design has a larger bushing already, so that could be in the running but they're not out yet.

an anyone point me in the direction of the more tolerable setup? I posed this question to Goodwin customer service and was recommend the innovates in the 60a. I lean this direction as well but thought I would check in with you guys. I'm not really interested in going to comp mounts as the stock mount design does not seem to be very good in general. Open to having my mind changed however.

Best,

Joseph

I have the BBFW street drop mounts. They noticeably increased NVH from stock, but seem to have "broken in" as I put on miles. With the top down, no problem. With a hardtop it can get tiring. I only have the hardtop on for track work so I have a helmet on anyway that reduces perceived noise, but for a street car I would think twice. Haven't experienced the Innovate mounts, but I can't imagine them being significantly better given the similar contruction.

What happens with the hardtop on? I love having mine on.

Without a top, a lot of the noise from the vibrations escapes. The hardtop seems to keep a good bit of that sound inside the cabin, resulting in a "boomy" interior.

Hey I wanted to drop an update on this thread. While I don't have a good reference point since my mounts were bad when I got the car, since I've installed the Innovate 60a I don't find them harsh at all. I've noticed on some really cold days everything in the car vibrates more but it goes away when the car warms up. I'm running a fixed mounted hard top as well. Honestly the car never strikes me as annoying or having too much NVH at all. it seems fairly appropriate for the Miata. Probably could have gone stiffer TBH but I'm happy with it at stock power levels. Highly recommend for a stock upgrade.
