Because i cant make decisions. Yay or Nay?
These are custom made prototype Corbeau LG1. They are super narrow and are covered in tough cloth. I want a another bucket seat in my miata, because i have a single A4 seat right now.
So for another A4 it will be 400 bucks with sliders and mount. And new a4 are all a bit too wide for me. So these would be 600 for two brand new with sliders and mounts. Just cant get over the blue color. Yay or Nay. Please be constructive in your criticism.:vash: http://lh3.ggpht.com/_uzUzVzeT3VA/S3...0/DSC_0022.JPG http://lh4.ggpht.com/_uzUzVzeT3VA/S3...0/DSC_0023.JPG http://lh3.ggpht.com/_uzUzVzeT3VA/S3...0/DSC_0024.JPG http://lh3.ggpht.com/_uzUzVzeT3VA/S3...0/DSC_0025.JPG |
yay

At least it matches the car OK. What about a custom cover down the road?
|
Too much blue but the seats look good though. How high are they?

I think these dont look horrible if i keep the rest of the car clean. Like no blue shift boot or steering wheel inserts. |

I guess the cool thing is that they are one of a kind and are super narrow so good for my 31" waste. And lg1s usually dont fit miatas. |
I couldn't deal with that much blue, but to each his own. Is it primarily a street/track/or split duty car?

So you say this looks like total rice?
|
I used to have blue corbeau A4's in my mariner miata, and always though it looked strange. Black would be way better.
|
Color match seats with exterior = fail
|
I've got it!
Spray paint them flat black! |
My .02. I like it since the car has power to match, I say go for it. If it was a stock 1.6, then it would be rice.

i think that off blue adds a whole bunch of character. and dont put anymore blue stuff in there, just blacked out with those seats would be my take.
|
Nay. Ask anyone that has colored seats and they'll say they show wear and dirt really easily. Except for brand new install pictures like the above, I've seen it every time. They also look a little chunky, you know? I like the thin light weight looking design of the stock Miata, Elise, and various other seats.
I also hate fake racing seats, but I'll leave that argument out of this "do they look good" thread. |

Rock them if you feel like it and quit worrying about what other people think. Blue on blue like that isn't my cup of tea though.

They should match the paint or contrast.

Exactly, You need to put a big ugly body kit on it and break your front bumper to look good.....wait...

meh its ricey to me but if you could find a way to tone it down alil it would be pretty neat. The main thing i look for when doing shit like that in a car is subtelty man, to me the double take is better than the gawking stare. ;)
|
Leave the stockers in. If you aren't putting a fixed back racing bucket in then there is no need change out the stock seats.
|
I dont know how tall you are but if they are 2" higher than stock your sitting pretty high.

I autox and plan on some track days as well. So stock seats with used up fome, stains and holes are out of the question. It's really between another a4 seat and these.

I tried fixed back seats and they suck ass. I had corbeau fx pro and they were very flimsey. I think fixed back seats need to be carbon fiber or full metal construction. |
Don't care for the blue but I think the blue seat would look better on the drivers side with the door shut, taking the pic like that just exposes to much blue. I find most FB seats need a back brace to be stiff.
|
so mounted the seat on the brackets today and a huge fail.
http://lh5.ggpht.com/_uzUzVzeT3VA/S3...0/DSC_0030.JPG Just when i started to like them. They are so comfortable and sit lover than my A4, so visibility is much better. http://lh5.ggpht.com/_uzUzVzeT3VA/S3...0/DSC_0029.JPG http://lh3.ggpht.com/_uzUzVzeT3VA/S3...0/DSC_0027.JPG does handle #27 fit on cars with handle #28? http://www.miatazone.com/images/part...interior_1.jpg This will pretty much be a deal breaker. Because aside from that i like the seats now. |
#28 was used in '94 and '95.
|
Will 27 fit in place of 28?
|
The bolts don't seem to line up. You may need the door panels also.
|
I found out they do fit. So good news. Now i need new door panels and door pulls. Anyone have them?
|
Well, after all this debate i am not getting these seats. After i mounted them on the brackets the seat totally does not fit. Its about an inch too wide at the base. So i guess I am going to be sticking with A4s.
|
I did not listen to a lot of people and decided to just get the damn seats. I just could not pass up an amazing deal on these seats. One of a kind prototype Corbeau lg1 seats for 50% off the price.
And there is no way in hell you can fit regular LG1 in your miata http://lh5.ggpht.com/_uzUzVzeT3VA/S3...0/DSC_0041.JPG http://lh6.ggpht.com/_uzUzVzeT3VA/S3...0/DSC_0042.JPG http://lh5.ggpht.com/_uzUzVzeT3VA/S3...0/DSC_0045.JPG http://lh4.ggpht.com/_uzUzVzeT3VA/S3...0/DSC_0047.JPG http://lh4.ggpht.com/_uzUzVzeT3VA/S3...0/DSC_0048.JPG http://lh6.ggpht.com/_uzUzVzeT3VA/S3...0/DSC_0050.JPG FLAME Suit on. |
Those would be the SHIT in black. My fat ass would be snug as a bug in those :giggle:

I know! I think they will fade pretty quickly and the shoulder belt will stain the bolster. So i have plans to later recover them in some synthetic leather and suede. In black that is.
I hate how the passenger area is wider than the driver's side. |

I hate how the passenger area is wider than the driver's side. here are regular lg1s Corbeau: LG1 http://www.diseno-art.com/images_3/Corbeau_LG1.jpg Notice how much smaller the bolsters are! They dont fit in a miata. They are about an 1"-2" to wide. |
And how did you get the prototypes may I ask?

This is what i am going to do with them eventually, but probably with suede in the middle. |
|
I actually think they look decent in your car.
|
seats look good, if the middle section was black i think it would offset the blueness but overall i think its nice, esp if you got a good deal on them.
|
Well, they don't look horrid.
|
Not really a match, but not too bad.
You still need to eventually get a really well-fited cover for them, but its not likely at the top of the list since they look pretty OK. Not really a bad way to save hundreds of bucks. |
I think they look great, I want to see them IRL. Does that picture mean you got your clutch working so I can finally buy that DP off of you and finish my hardware?
