The BEE*R is basically a poor mans "ALS" system, just be prepared to buy a new turbo every few months.

If you want the answers on how to hook up the BEE*R ,I strongly suggest you try this place instead, you will fit right in.

Redirecting...

The reason you're finding so much resistance here is that the general consensus is that spark-cut limiters are greatly inferior to fuel-cut limiters in fuel-injected applications.

Think about what's happening here- the reason that spark-cut limiters produce the big bangs and flashes that they do is that by eliminating spark, large quantities of raw fuel flow down into the exhaust system. When the spark comes back on, all this residual fuel is ignited. This places considerable stresses upon the muffler and catalytic converter, and causes a pressure spike within the exhaust system which then attempts to revert backwards through the turbine. This shock-loading of the turbine can be damaging to the bearings and journals within the turbocharger, as well as to the wastegate actuator.

With a fuel-injected engine, it's generally preferred (by us, anyway) to implement all rev-limits, including launch control, by cutting fuel rather than spark. This causes no adverse phenomena to occur within the exhaust tract, and it eliminates all the silly pops and flames that are associated with such devices.

I'm not sure what these devices cost in Greece, but a quick web search is showing me prices for the Beer Limiter around US$350, which is more than a fully assembled MegaSquirt. Yet another nail against the device.

Joe,how do you know this person is from the Netherlands?

Joe Perez 12-03-2008 02:43 PM

My bad, he's from Greece, not the Netherlands. Made a typo when I was looking that up. (edited for correction)

Just for the information....
The green wire from the bee-r should be connected to the Camshaft Sensor wire in the ecu
Thank u
