Begi Series 1 vs FM stage 2 ?

First off I am a complete turbo n00b so I would really like to go with a kit because I would like to start with a much easier install and less thinking involved.

I searched and found a thread from '04 about begi vs fm but the discussion seemed a little dated since both seem to have come out with different kits since then.

So I have a '95 miata that I'm planning on turboing and I only want to run around 5-6psi with an intercooler. I definitely want the GT2554R for the lower spooling (even if it does heat up more).

so could I get some opinions pros/cons on
The Begi Series 1

vs

the FM voodoo II

bell makes a superior dp, much better intercooler, and I think that's about it. For that amount of money though, you might as well spend another $700 and get the s3 with all the bells and whistles. I did.

No one knows when FM ships kits, Bell ships within a month typically...but I didn't get my email from Stephani today probably because I ordered some electronics late. :sadwavey:

Yea but like I said I want the smaller turbo and at this point I don't really feel like replacing a bunch of parts like the clutch and what not. I'm trying to keep the cost down. I would go with the kit without the intercooler if I wasn't somewhat worried about reliability of the engine.

then put a 3lb spring in the wastegate and buy a boost controller then.

After reading some threads on miata.net I think I will go with a begi S1 once I get a leak down and compression test done on my engine. Especially since they can ship within a month instead of "somewhere around 2 months if we get the parts".

wellllll.....

So I did a compression test today and got:
160-165-170-160 (I live at 5300 feet)

The #2 cylinder spark plug wasn't tightened down all the way and there was a lot of gunk on the spark plug socket when I pulled it out. I also noticed when I was putting it back in that this had happened:

So the bottom one is the #2 spark plug as you can see the metal prongs for the spark gap are um...well...missing. Also at the top you'll notice it was missing the little metal thing on the screw top. That was stuck in the thing that connected to the spark plug. I went out and bought some new ones and put those all in. Hopefully I don't have those two little prongs sitting in the cylinder. Maybe they could go out the exhaust port if they haven't already?
