It's about 15% coolant mix right now with Redline Waterwetter.

I have the Ratsback racing chin spoiler.

Oil cooler seems to be the general consensus.

Anyone have any experience with this Moss oil temp spacer:

Thoughts on running that with FM's oil cooler thermostat/spacer?

Chris

Glowshift makes a oil cooler sandwich adapter. Give you 10 AN for a cooler, and 2 1/8npt ports for pressure or temp.

Is it a double pass? If I went with a bigger/better/different radiator I would probably try one of the circle track double pass radiators that M2CupCar has recommended. It's also the best bang for the buck after the Godspeed/Chinese stuff.

Triple pass, direct OEM fitment. This is not an eBay piece - prettier than a Koyo (dare I say comparable to Ron Davis?). Going from my 2" CSF with twin 11" Spals on a sealed ABS shroud, to the triple-pass radiator and a single 11" Spal zip-tied to the radiator, we saw a temp drop of 15+ degrees. Going to test it on a car in 2 weeks with a more standard intercooler setup, but we are confident.

FYI, I've looked at Evans. The big benefit IMO is not that you can run cooler, but that you can run hotter safely. "How hot" is the question, though.

I always thought that double or triple pass radiators increased velocity through the radiator but if the water pump wasnt upgraded in some way to increase pressure/flow then you might actually end up with a decrease in cooling. Is there an upgraded miata water pump?

Ext me a price.

I was the one advocating it in your thread. Since the boiling point is high, the main concern would be Oil Temps.

No. Double/triple pass gives the coolant a longer path in order to cool down. All other things being similar, the WP should be up to the task.

There has been talk talk of running an electric water pump. Search for some of Jason's posts.

Oil Cooler Sandwich Adapter - 20mm 1.5 Thread

don't buy the "tru-cool" oil coolers from racepartswholesale...mine is going in the garbage. Time for the RX7 cooler.

haha you sure they dont get that crap from a computer store from the watercooling section?

That's not the reason for the improvemnt. The higher coolant velocity means there will be more turbulence so the insulating laminar flow layer of coolant flowing near the aluminum surfaces will be broken up.

The cost and time spent with the electric pump route would probably be better spent else where.Ive been working on this very thing for quite some time, and it is now on the back burner until I get the engine totally in and tuned. The possibility of failure on a street driven car might be too much for me.Ive even built lots of parts for it.:vash:

do you have the size. specs or model that you ordered for your miata ?

I'm sure Sav will post a new Topic when they get it and test it.
