So my cars been getting super hot lately. I have to put water in it everyday. In the first 5 mins of driving itll be fine then the temp will rise 3/4 and itll shoot water from the resevoir, then go back to normal temp. All in about 20 seconds. Then about 5 mins later it'll go back up to 3/4 temp and stay there. All while on the freeway. When I get into stop and go driving it gets super hot. But never overheats. I have a brand new radiator. Coolant doesnt boil, so i know i have good pressure. I do know my turbo seals are blown though. And it does make white smoke. My guess it could be water pump maybe. i just sprayed degreaser to see if it is leaking. and the smoke just could be from my bad turbo. I just really hope its not bhg. All help is appreciated. Start by fixing/eliminating the known problems 1st.

Its either turbo or headgasket. Just looked at it. Cars spitting coolant out the exhaust. Im gunna start with the turbo. It only has 5 of the 6 fins left on the turbine. lol

Unless the center housing has quite literally shattered, it's impossible for water to get from the turbocharger into the engine. The water jacket is simply a hollowed-out section around the periphery of the housing. there are no seals on the water jacket which could allow water to pass into the engine.

Do a compression test. Or a leakdown test if you've got the tools. Pop the radiator cap while you're doing it.

On the bright side, it may well not be a bad head gasket. You might have simply warped the head.

Is your fan turning on when overheating?

Sounds like your head is warped. Just get a local machine shop to surface/check the deck, get a new headgasket, and I bet you'll be all set. Pretty simple. You also want to eliminate what made it overheat in the first place. I would change the radiator cap, thermostat, and thermistor, all of which are very cheap and easy to replace. And make sure your cooling system is properly filled/burped. As long as your water pump is turning, not making noise, and not leaking it should be fine. If you have the money then it would be a good idea to change it anyway if it's old. You're more than likely going to have to replace the heater hoses and possibly the oil cooler/throttle body hoses when doing the BHG/FUH repair.

I have my fans hooked to a switch. so there always on. I've started pulling the head already. I might as well get arp head studs and metal head gasket too. Thanks so much for the help!

Just as an FYI, unless you have a 1.6 ('90-'93) engine, the OEM headgasket is already metal. Tri-layered steel, to be precise. So no need to spend extra for fancy headgaskets- they simply don't fail. Ever.
