I swapped the entire brake system from an '01+ sport package car and added stainless lines, excellent feel and stopping power. Was running Wilwood's up front before.

:rly:
you went from wilwoods to the sport brakes?

STravisVrooman 11-26-2007 02:13 PM

Yeah, I don't think the wilwoods are bad, I just liked the idea of putting a system in that was designed by Mazda (running the matching booster, master cylinder, and prop. valve), if I had bothered to get a bias controller and set everything up correctly it probably would have worked just as well if not better tho.

I have the 01+ sport brake rotors and Wilwood calipers,my cars braking is just as good as my friends Porsche 996.I will never go back to single pistons again.

I don't think single piston setups are that bad, but thats just my opinion. I don't currently do any track time or anything real heavy. I remember when some aftermarket company was trying to come up with 4-piston setups for the RX-8 and they were having a hard time matching the stopping capabilites of the factory calipers. Of course the brakes on that car are rather massive.
