Just curious, its most likely a piece of **** considering its price but you never know.

You are ******* with fuel management, one of the most integral parts of your turbo setup. If it fails, you WILL be replacing a motor.

There's certain **** I'll buy on eBay (BOVs and intercoolers). FPRs are not on the list.

i wouldn't risk it.... something might leak? parts inside may break and fall into the fuel rail and block of fuel passage for one of the injectors?

i personally am using hte aeromotive one and am happy with it

yeah, thats what i figured as well.

This piggyback setup is going to end up costing more than a ******* mspnp, i wish it would have been out when i started this whole thing.

Im considering selling the bipes, vortec, 1.8 inj, so i can buy a mspnp, map sensor, some 440's, and wideband/fuel pump(need those two anyways).

Im just afraid of tuning, im just going to start reading the **** out of the ms section.

i have used 2 different ebay ones and they both worked perfect. and i have friends that have no problems with them either

Whenever in doubt about a product think of it this way: If it was a prostitute would you feel comfortable soliciting her for sex?

In this case its a Chinese prostitute with an unknown background, will you be able to contact her after she has your money? Sure you heard about a few guys that gave her business without anything untoward happening but can you be sure something hasn't changed since?

I know several people that use those Ebay cheap AFPR's and have had good luck with them. Friend has had one on his Talon for over a year, another has one on his honda. Damn that's cheap and it even has a guage. If I bought one, I would tear it down and inspect it before it went on my car, to make sure it looks fine and all. I was planning on buying a cheap adjustable fuel pressure regulator from SummitRacing. Their cheapest comparable regulator that's adjustable to 100 PSI is 100 bucks, and its just the regulator. No fittings, no guage.

In all seriousness, wouldn't this either work or not? I'm not needing it to add pressure for boost, I just need an external regulator to set base fuel pressure. I'll bet it's large enough to supply plenty of fuel. Just might be decent. I know it's Ebay, but hell reading his feedbacks I didn't see anyone complain about the regulator, and he seems to sell the hell out of them. Most complained about headers or overcharging for shipping.

I've heard of people using Rising Rate fuel pressure regulators soley for fuel management (the bandaid approach) and damaging there motor, but what about just using it to set base fuel pressure? It just seems to me it may would work fine. I'm building a custom fuel setup on my 99 and I'll need an adjustable external FPR. Seems like this might would work just to set base pressure, and no more.

i use the fuel pressure riser thing... works fine for me at LOW boost (10lbs is the limit)

I'm with the whole "No chinese parts on my fuel system" approach. I do support chinese I/Cs and BOVs though!

You still need it to raise fuel pressure at a 1:1 ratio with manifold pressure. The spring and diaphragm are points of failure. You can be left with too little or too much fuel pressure. And depending on the design you can have a diaphragm fail which can then send fuel through your manifold reference line directly into your intake manifold...

Yeah that gauge is real useful, especially at WOT pulling 7K rpm's and hitting 8psi of boost...

I'd like to know how you people read it...

I'll sell a JR AFPR for 75.00 shipped...

Well, my 99 stock regulator isn't a rising rate regulator either. I'm planning on running MS and I believe it can be setup to work running a constant fuel pressure.

However, I will need mine setup with a 1:1 rising rate regulator for the nitrous system, so if boost slowly climbs while I'm spraying, the motor will always get the proper shot of fuel.

I use the megan racing one that was like $30 shipped with a gauge. Holds pressure at whatever I want, and has worked great. No leaks (cant say the same for yo-yo tom's fuel rail). I also have a electric pressure gauge in the dash, so I know it's working fine.
