Default How clean do the head and block surface need to be before installing head?

Like the title says, any help appreciated

I scraped the block down carefully with a razor blade and plastic scraper, it looks clean to me...also the head was resurfaced and is full of assy lube how clean of assy lube and oil do things have to be.

Thanks guys.

Not to sure that you want to have assy lube on the head/block mating surface. It may cause bubbles or gaps for leaks to occur. Make sure its clean of any debris. I wiped mine off with a soft cloth and some acetone.

wipe it down with a solvent and keep it clean. if need be, try a brass brush.
