Building a new harness

I've been looking for over a week now on Miata-specific information on building a new wiring harness and going in and replacing all the wiring in the Miata, as my wiring harness is starting to piss me off.

Catch is, I haven't been able to find much on it via searching google, here, or the other Miata sites. I've already built a harness from scratch for my RX7 - are there any pitfalls I need to worry about with the Miata? Or is it very straightforward to build a Megasquirt-based harness, replacing all the sensors for GM-equivalents?

Also, on a sidenote, where do people recommend mounting the Megasquirt? I'm adverse to my stock mounting location (Early NA), as it had a fair bit of rust there that was a pain in the ass to remove, and the glovebox is not where I want to mount it long-term. Behind the passenger seat seems to be a popular choice, but assuming there is no restrictions on mounting, is there a better option? Hell, I can put it in the trunk without issue if that's desirable.

(Edit) Got a link to FRT_Fun's thoroughly awesome writeup from a kind forum member, thanks guys!
(Edit2) Boo, his writeup is incomplete.

I'm planning to replace everything in the car atm, Oscar. Done with trying to figure out what the hell half a dozen different owners did.
