I have one, complete with heater box. One metal tube is kinked but can be straighened out. You can pick it up.

I looked at Rock Auto, Auto Zone, Advance Auto. Where else should I look?

The only reason I'm looking for one is my evap core is leaking so my AC system loses its charge pretty quickly. I figured if I'm pulling the whole dash I might as well do them both so I don't have to deal with it down the line.

You know you don't have to pull all of that out to change the heater core. I've changed several of them before, it's not hard to get the old one out and the new one in.... but it is a royal PITA to get the lines connected right. IIRC they are the same for all of the NAs and i think the NBs too.

All of the sites I've look on specify a 90-93 and then a 97-99. I just looked in the Haynes and it looks like you can do it all through the glovebox. Shibby. I'll just replace the evaporator core then! Should I also replace the expansion valve?

No, but in every other car I've owned you've had to pull the entire dash to even inspect the evap core. I figured while the whole dash was off I'd replace them both so I didn't have to tear it all down again, kinda like doing the water pump and the timing belt at once even though Mazda recommends different intervals.

The only things you have to remove to access the evaporator are the glovebox and the little metal bar that supports it. It's nowhere near the heater core.

You don't have to remove the dash to change the heater core. And a used one is fine to replace a broken one.

You should check the dealerships prices for heater cores...

IIRC Last I checked it was around $450.00...

The heater core in my new '94 was leaking. I did a lot of searching on M.net and the consensus is that the 90-93 core works and you can find them new on ebay for $100. You can replace them w/o pulling the entire dash. You access them from the drivers side footwell. There is a cover on the blower box that is removable. You need to cut one of the tubes to remove the old core and do the same to install the new one. You just add a short section of hose to splice where you cut. One of the tubes is actually cut and spliced with hose from the factory. There are good pics on M.net if you need a visual of my explanation.

I just bypassed my bad core for now until I get around to installing a new core.
