Im assuming that was with the Link. I wouldnt recommend them mostly because unless you have a link you wont be able to get the most out of it. For 250 dollars get something else.

But for FM stuff you can check on m.net. most of this site is DIY (or greddy upgrades), but take what they say with a grain of salt THEY LOVE FM.

rmcelwee 07-21-2006 01:41 AM

I'd estimate 3 HP or so. After installing them you need to run on a dyno for a while to tune them in. I'd spend my money on something else...

BTW, adding lightness is free and will get you more performance than what those cam gears will ever get you.

Loki047 07-21-2006 02:08 AM

john, before you start buying random parts for your car have a plan, and then shop around. Alot of guys post theoretical build ups for ideas and plans to work from. Just something to think about.

johnclev6 07-21-2006 07:13 PM

what would be the best way to get added performance for the cheapest??

Loki047 07-21-2006 07:38 PM

well what do u want? and how much money do u want to spend? I really dont think greddy can be beat and its a good starting off place.

TurboMiatKid 07-21-2006 07:39 PM

Save your money.

johnclev6 07-21-2006 09:18 PM

Ok your right Im gona save my money for a turbo kit, thats what the ultimate goal has been and I got the upgrades needed to run an ok amount of psi so what kit should I save for?

Mach929 07-21-2006 10:20 PM

stock 1.6 cams seem to love turbos go figure. I haven't seen any real evidence of cams being of any significance with forced induction on a 1.6. The car is near ready for a turbo, have at it

what engine do you have?

I can understand if you want to take it slow, that's what i've done, I'm a clutch away from running 12+ psi of boost....well i'm also repainting but that's a different story

johnclev6 07-21-2006 10:29 PM

i have the 1.8 and I got a clutch and fywheel for it already an upgraded exhaust I just want a turbo kit and I dot know what one I should get.

I found this and it looks like a good kit what do you guys think.

Mach929 07-21-2006 10:52 PM

i would really look at what's been tried and proven to work with miatas, there's really a ton of info out there. If it were me and i were doing it all over again from scratch. boy where to start.

What are you goals and choose a turbo based on that, from there you'll have a lot more direction

CRX 07-22-2006 01:36 AM

Cam gears are for teh Honja boiz. The stock Miata ECU will adjust itself back down if you advance the cam gears.

Remove weight from vehicle. :bigtu:
Best free upgrade! Every new car today is too damn heavy. Well, except the Elise! :)
