car alarm?

Im thinking about this clifford for the miata.
http://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-CLIFFORD-50-...item1e5e36dc98

I have about $200 at most to throw away for an alarm.

Its a 2-way, remote start and power locks ( already got actuators installed)

everything i want.

opinions welcome since i still haven't decided what i want.

Im not familiar with alarms but see Clifford everywhere, if you have another suggestion please let me know especially if its cheaper =P

Why in Norcal do you need the remote start? It never gets that cold there that you should need it. Just saying you could find a cheaper one with out that option.

Have a great day,
Jared

pfft car alarms... I have a home-made relayed fuel pump hidden switch. Cost me 10 dolla.

lol my car alarm fried out, the asshole who installed it used electrical tape on the main power splice... out of all the crimped, heat shrunk splices, that fucker tapes the 12v feed... so one day (after a long winter of using the extremely hot heater, and its rain pouring of all days) my feet happen to hit the wire perfectly to ground out the tiny exposed bare wire to the hood latch... Why the hell wasnt it tied up either? Damnit. Lets just say I bailed out of my car after I thought it was going up in flames near my feet... it just cooked the wire and blew a few fuses.... and stopped the car. So I was head under the dash trying to clean this shit up with my legs hanging outside in the cold wet for about an hour.

Anyways, enough of my bitching. The problems I had with my alarm (it wasnt a Clifford, but similar) if I let the car sit a week or 2, the battery went dead. I dont know why, since I would think its supposed to protect your car for long amounts of time... unless they go by the mentality "Hey, if the car is dead, they still cant drive it!! *chinese laughter* AHAHahahAHAHAHHhahHAHAHa!"

ROR.
