I've seen that on other cars, but not my trusty Miata yet.

If you blow into the little tube and it doesn't crank, it means you are drunk and shouldn't be driving.

Oh damn! That explains everything! Well I wasn't welllll over the limit. It was 4pm and 3 dollar pitchers and no cover are hard to argue with.
