I have an aftermarket deck in my car. My Dads factory stereo is getting old. I know what I want to put in, But I dont know what kind of install kit ot get? I searched for mine in order to find the pocket.
What do you guys have installed? The deck is not important, it is the install:bigtu: here is mine: |

I currently have an Alpine 9853, glide touch...controls the iPod, but it isnt highspeed. So, I have to use the Alpine adapter to use the iPod. Here is a pic of my set up. I am going to put the deck in the for sale section. It is about a year old, CD player was used maybe once, mainly used for iPod control.
I am gng to get the Alpine X001. Really sweet, plus It can change to red illumination to match the dash lights in the car. |
I have a FC rx-7 cubby in mine. I ordered a kit but the damn thing came in about 15 pieces and the instructions didn't match anything I had and looked horrible. The rx-7 part looks good and fits well. The old stereo that was in it was rigged and had a metal cage that I was able to reuse to mount the stereo itself. Not sure if that was part of the factory stereo or not. The rx-7 cubby's part number is listed somewhere on miata.net.

I have that alpine in my 240, but is there a metal cage that goes in the miata? (my 240 had one) because mine had been busted into before i bought it so my plasctic fascia has the holes broken out of it and nowhere for me to mount my pioneer so its sitting in the hole chillin.

What kind of boost gauge is that? LIke I said in the post, The stereo is not important only the mounting kit. Is yours a custom kit? who makes it? |
The gauges are warner stevens gauges. The SS surround is from rspeed.net. It is a simple bolt on for the 90-93, maybe 94, but I had to modify the mounting points for it to fit my 96. Paid like 60-70 dollars for it. Looks good, and really simple to intall.

anyone else have pictures of stereo's in the car?
I cant find the gauges or the R-speed stereo kit? I got an install kit but it does not have a pocket and is the cheap plastic, I don't want to use it if I don't have to. |

Or this, http://www.ddmworks.com/Miatastore/s...surrounds.html It cost more and I would need gauges |
