are a bad idea

Damn that sucks. What're you replacing them with? I have a hood pin from a porsche GT3 cup car, pretty sure it's cast.

but get them red to match your interior. |
Old european style. I couldn't imagine using saddle soap on some of my car when detailing.

given my underhood temps they'd probably start a fire ;)
I just stuck some of those wire/extruding pins from the hardware store. The first cast pin that broke on me was in a race. I got hit in the left front fender which sent a bunch of air under the hood on the straight and on the second lap after being hit the hood came up right over the windshield. Otherwise I would have continued racing. |
Tell me you got that on video :x: (sorry to hear though) |
that is why i ussualy use mini master locks. If they breack something is way wrong + i dont have to worry about jackasses fucking with my shit.

Not after the hood came over, but here's shot right after the incident (I'm the red Miata.) He pulled over in front of me and hit the brakes about two car lengths before I was going to brake, so it was a hard hit. The very next lap, coming up the hill out of that turn, the second hood pin (pax side, opposite the hit) snapped and the hood came up. That was exciting.
It's a shame- that was the second lap and I'd qualified between the two yellow Miatas in the back ground. But as the competition increases, the risks you have to take to get ahead do also... Spent a little more money than I'd planned to that weekend (wasn't my car). - rob |
